The first ski newschool movie i ever saw was a matchstick movie called focused. It blew my mind but when i first saw l1p high five i instantly became a level 1 guy. The whole reality speed footage of level 1 movies just seemed totally based and natural and raw compared to the overly emo nature of matchstick films like focused and yearbook.

matchstick films seem to be better suited for the gaper crowd who used to watch warren miller movies and be like “wow can you believe what these kids are doing these days?”

Plehouse was pretty based

Poorboys had luck with edias and ski porn but everything else is kind of a joke. “yeah dude” was possibly the worst ski movie ever made and kristi leskinens “im a vagina” segment in 1242 was as cringe as brad holmes rap part from ski movie 1.

Just for the record, tons of the shots in there are pros haha. But hard in the paint indeed

dang that 60 year old woman they showed at around 14:15 threw a sick backflip, what a badass. hope i can ski half that good at that age.

Also yeah recently Ive been into watching 90's ski and skate stuff. things seemed simpler then and the stoke was high on every new trick.

Was watching some world champ moguls clips from like 85/86 and I cant believe the level of gold medal runs were at. sketchy runs down the course with no rotations could net you a win, crazt how it changed since
