I just saw a live concert and interview of Damian Marley on Vermont Public Television. He said some of the smartest things I've heard a human being say in a very long time. If he were american and over 45 or whatever, he should totally be our president. He would make so much peace between everyone.

Not exactly candidates for pres though.. although the actual '08 candidates are all asses anyway.
 
Nah dude, Kanye is so good at public speaking its incredible. Definitely my choice for candidacy.
 
He was talking about peace and shit and how growing up in Jamaica and listening to all types of music he really learned a lot about the world and touring with his father. He was promoting peace not war big time. Then he was talkin about how much of an honor it was to be compared to his father. And how incredible a feeling it was to have yoru music compared to one of the best
 
i take back my statement that John Stewart for president was one of the worst ideas ever, this takes the cake
 
hahh i was flippin channels last night and it was showing on PBS in indiana. i watched the whole thing, it was amazing. but damian isn't the only person who speaks of peace, understanding, and respect. a lot of people do, we just only hear what the asshole politicians have to say. but what he was saying is true. we just need to get congressmen and the president to start thinking on those terms
 
i dont like him and wouldnt have voted for him, but i am not totally against the war in Iraq. I hate the people who say that what we need to do is withdraw all our troops NOW, because that will only fuck iraq over in the long term. and im against your idea because it is plain stupid. i know that it would take more than public speaking to make a good president, and he would need some political expirence.
 
haha bush was a governor of a state for like 6 years. that's pretty much all he did. how is that enough political experience?
 
nothing in terms of politics, but you're statement sounded as if you were saying bush has actual political experience, rather than him just becoming governor because his daddy was president
 
he's very intellectual but i gotta say there are people that are way more qualified. the only reason he sounds so smart is because the world around us is so fucking dumbed down.
 
you have to be born in America to become president of America.

and he really wouldn't make a good president. if you consider all of the different responsibilities and nation altering choices that a president has to make every day, would you really want someone who most likely starts the day with a "wake and bake" to be in charge of national healthcare, social security, immigration control, diplomatic discussions with hostile nations, and the button?
