Dalbello Krypton Rampages VS Salomon SPK

I want to buy new boots. Right now Im using 03-04 1080 boots Size 28.5. I like them but I get boot bang and I feel like they should be more snug. So should i buy the Kryptons... do kryptons run larger or bigger than salomon? and will they get rid of boot bang? Also how light are they? Or should I just suffer with my 1080 boots the rest of the season and wait for the SPK's?

who knows if the krypton runs bigger or smaller in comparison to Salomon boots.... Is Dalbello going to launch a new boot for 06-07?

maybe you should go to a shop and get a boot tech guy to fit you to some diff brands of boots. why limit yourself to those 2 companies, maybe you will be more comfortable in a rossi or nordica...

best bet is to FIND the kryptons in person and try them on, cause it is a very unique fit. I've never tried on the 1080 boots but I"ve seen alot of people who use the kryptons and other who can't wear them, I"m pretty much on the dge myself, I'd like to try them on again and get a better feel. Right now I have head edge boots so if maybe thats a comparison you can understand, my heads fit fine and the kryptons were tight the first time i tried them on

salomons and dalbellos run pretty true to size, but the kryptons have a much shorter boot sole length.

there is no new boot line for dalbello that i know of for 06/07.

krypton liners also pack out a ton so don't be suprised if you have to cram your foot into the right size in the shop, they will definately become ALOT more roomy once you break them in.

do ppl on here actually have kryptons? cuz iv had mine for 2 months ridden them prolly 5 days a week since then and they havent packed out all that much. the kryp's are perf for that all around boot that can shralp the park. is the SPK the new white boot thats coming out next year? cuz that boot looks retarded, its like an enlarged version of a 2 buckle kiddie boot.

While there isn't technicaly a new boot line for dalbello, the krypton line is greatly expanded into womens, kids, and aditional mens boots.

it's rumored that thermaflex liners will be available for an extra $50 for the pros!

any idea if the same goes for the kross' and the rampages?

i have about 15 days this season in mine and the liners have not packed out too much. i took them into work and stretched the liners out a few MM because they weren't doing it on their own.

while i dont know for sure, my guess is that the spk boot is going to fit like a bucket, similar to the 1080 boot. if the 1080 boot fits your foot, then chances are, they krypton wont. its a much much narrower boot with a super snug heel pocket. if you are getting shin bang, either your cuff is not snug enough or you are casing landings or landing backseat. the cuff on the 1080 boot has a relatively snug cuff, but if its still not tight enough for you and you have chicken legs like me, then go to your craft store, get some funfoam stuff and cut it into half inch by 3 inch strips, and glue it to the front of the tongue on either side. that will snug up the tongue around your shin so there isnt so much space. also, put the power strap inside the front of the shell, right up against the liner. hopefully that helps you out.

i have the rampages there real sick boot but get whatever fits ur foot better this boot fits my leg real snug so i dont get much shin bang

it just depends the spk and the rampages are just about the same weight. both boots will reduce shin bang like none other and they both have a soft flex that is controled. the rampage is made to be costomized to your foot and has extra plastic so if they are a little tight they can be fit to fit the best. they also have accesereis such as softer and stiffer toungs to match your prefrences. on the other side the spk have a small heel box but has a wide toe box, but the only downside is that they have a limited amout of plastic so there is not much you can do for costomizing.

oh really? why do people report having shin bang from kryptons... a properly fitting boot, no matter what brand will reduce shinbang and toe bang and give you the best control of your skis... proper fit will reduce shinbang, not a certain boot

i picked them up at chirsties and they are still heavier compared to my flexons

but yeah, try on both boots and buy which ever feels better

um im pretty sure if they were lighter you wouldnt be able to notice the difference by just picking them up because next years liners are featherweight

if u mean "them," then yes. i know how to get a boot the right size, im not some beginer. theyre just killing my toes.

but about the rampages, other than my toes, theyre really great boots. i love them, its nice to be on a softer boot. the boot like flexes with ur ankle nad stays wrapped around ur leg instead of like normal boots where the back part dosent really move. theyre good, but my toes

i'v only seen the rampages up to a 28 i believe, and i have a 30.5 in nordicas, i'm thinking about going to a 30 or a little smaller next year, but do the rampages come in a larger size than a 28?

the rampages go up to a 29.5, as do the other kryptons. the new liner is an intuition liner, like the ones from the shop in whistler. i havent tried them on with the new liner yet, but that much extra padding on the shin certainly wont hurt for the shinbang sufferers out there. and whoever said they are in a head edge now, and the kryptons almost fit, you're lying, one way or the other. the kryptons are narrow, and the edge is pretty close to being the widest boot out there, so there's no way both of them fit you well, sorry.

YOU SHOULD NOT DECIDE ON YOUR BOOTS BASED ON WHAT SOME IDOTS ON NS SAYS ABOUT TWO BOOTS, MOST OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOT EVEN TRIED ON BOTH OF THESE BOOTS LET ALONE SKIED IN BOTH OF THEM. GREAT YOUR TEN EIGHTS FIT YOUR FOOT, BUT THE SPK IS A COPLEATLY NEW BOOT SO IT WILL HAVE A DIFFERENT FIT.

YOU NEED TO GET YOUR SELF TO A STORE WITH A GOOD BOOT FITTER TO HELP YOU.

I COULD TELL YOU SOME STUFF ABOUT EACH BOOT AND HOW TO MAKE SHURE YOU GET A GOOD FIT, BUT I WONT BECUASE YOU NEED TO GO TO A BOOT FITTER.

Go your your shop the spk boot are being devlered now.

Btw the spk was the talk of the glaciers this year. Everybody was raving and the boot is amazingly comfy.

yes nothin as good as tryin the boots on yourself, i'm pretty sure every single boot thread ever made on ns comes to this conclusion... boooooot fitter

i tried both on the dalbello locks your foot in completely i didnt have any movement anywhere whatsoever i tried the spk had a lot of heel lift and was really sloppy go try them on get what works best on your foot

i don't know if krypton are smaller or bigger than salomon but if i were u i buy the krypton... ive got krypton and for me they are fantastic...

buy the krypton... :)
