Dalbello Krypton Help

well this season has been a shit show for my leg after breaking my fib in august. im heading to jackson for 2 weeks on friday and am fed up with the brutal pain that im having with my lange xt 130's. I want something softer in hopes that it will help my perma-calf-shin-bone-bang. I was looking at the il moro however i cant find any in my size. i am debating between the KR Pro, the KR fusion and the KR rampage. 130 is definatly too stiff however i heard you can make the boot pretty soft, like 110, is that true? A big concern is also shock absorbing so does either one of those boots excel at that. Also, how does dalbellos flex compare to lange in terms of stiffness? Would the rampages be too soft for hucking cliffs at jackson or can i make them stiffer (closer to 110). What im really looking for is a comfterble boot for a recovering leg that is around the 105-110 true-to-flex range.

Perhaps a 130 isn't what you need, but given your injury you should be more concerned with how high/low the cuff & tongue come up on your shin and how the boot flexes forward. If the boot is too low, it could be stressing your leg in a really not fun way. And if the boot is flexing forward in a way that causes focused pressure in a certain area, that will also be bad for you.

So in addition to finding the right stiffness, you should definitely look at how low/high the boot hits you on the leg and how the boot flexes (smooth and not binding or kinking is key).

The issue is that the fracture was boot top. Do you know if the dalbellos have that smooth flex?

I've been riding KR Pro's for about a year now, they rip. By far my favorite boots, I have the stiff tongues in with the stiffeners all the way up for driving skis on EC ice but if I ever find my way back into the park for a day I'd run the soft tongues. Definitely a true 130 with the stiff tongues and probably around 100-110 with the soft tongues. The flex is really smooth because of the cabrio design. The cuff is relatively high compared to my old SPKs and Scarpa Freedom SLs.

How does the overall construction compare to Full Tilts? I'm not asking about fit, just durability and the correct stiffness as well as shell longevity.

Overall construction is better than Full Tilts.

Overall construction is way better than full tilt, stronger plastics, all metal buckles, solid power strap plus way more adjust-ability..

How would they compare to FT classics with 8 tongues? Or any FT 8 flex tongues

Way better heel retention, I only used Drop Kicks for about 3 days and I believe those came with a 6 tongue? (correct me if i'm wrong) and I could fold those in half compared to my KR Pros. I'd give it a true 130 flex.

What is your size?? I am selling my Dalbello boots if you are interested! AMAZING ski boot I just need a different size :/...

These boots come with two different flex tongues for your choosing (110 and 130). The flex is a little different in a cabrio shell design. Its soft at first and gets more stiff the hard or more aggressive you flex. These boots also have the ID wrap liner, which will completely eliminate the shin bang and pain.
