Dakine is the new Skullcandy

Mediocre quality but everyone thinks it's the greatest.

Stuff in the market at the same pricepoint with higher quality

Ridiculous colors/designs

Started in the action sports industry, now everyone and their sister has one.

amirite?

Nah, they still make stuff that doesnt fall apart two days after you purchase it. Same cant be always said.

My Dakine heli pro dlx pack is awesome, use it on a regular basis, still in one piece

the only bad thing is my heli pro from 4 years ago had like a rubber patch on the front so when you had skis attached they didnt cut in, they dont have it on my new one so i could see that cutting through pretty soon.

the zipper separated from the fabric on my backpack. i had to do some cutting and whatnot to fix it. the zippers still come off if you zip either of them past a certain part but as long as it closes.

Fuuuuuu I got a dlx for christmas, haven't used it yet, hopefully this doesn't happen :( it seems like good quality.

I do agree on the issue of everyone having dakine packs now. It gets annoying when you see kids bringing their books and shit to class in like a $100 backpack that is supposed to be for backcountry use.

Uh... Dakine packs have a lifetime warrentee. same thing happened to mine and i paid like 20 bucks for shipping or something and got a brand new one in like a week and a half.

dakine stuff is bomb. Ive been rockin dakine gloves for probably the past 5-7 years, and have never had problems with the cold, waterproofness, tearing, any of that. for their pricepoint, i havent been able to find anything that comes close in terms of actual performance, looks, or features. maybe burton stuff, but fuck burton. Dakine =/= Skullcandy.

lolnoyourwrong
i have had a Dakine ProII backpack for 7 years now, all the zippers are in perfect condition, all the clips are perfectly fine, no tears, no rips, nothing. i have beat the ever living shit out of that backpack, i used every day for college for the first 4 years and have taken it skiing at least 50 times. i've had other Dakine gear over the years as well, i've never had problems with anything breaking or falling apart. in my experience Dakine makes awesome gear.
besides, Dakine has been around a lot longer than skullcandy, if anything skullcandy wishes they could be Dakine.

I've got a dakine surfboard bag, it seems to be pretty quality item. I've had it for a few years, no problems with it.

Dakine bags carry horribly. Ski with something else for a day and you'll wonder how you ever thought otherwise. As non-ski bags they're fine, and some of their gloves are decent, I have about 300 days and counting on a pair of Cobras I got in 05/06 with a few glue repairs.

Pretty much what I was referring to. How many people saying they're awesome have carried skis for more than 20 mins?

I've had a heli pro for 5 years and I bought it used on here. The only issues I've had with using it as a school bag is the buckle on the wait strap broke, also the waterproofing is coming off one of the top pockets. Oh, and it says I

Dakine is good for carting books around campus, and that's about it. If you want a pack for actually hiking with, or general obuse, look elsewhere.

Yep.

The problem with using mediocre gear for actual backcountry skiing is that if it breaks a few miles in, you're screwed. Dakine's materials and workmanship have always seemed substandard to me, so save the fix-it time and gear and get a real pack. I like Black Diamond.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? Fucking Tanner Hall, and Bobby Brown when he was triple corking the shit out of the Alyeska jump from the Way I see It.
