They do go on diagonally. I hope the loops will be large enough for my new fatties. They are sort of a pain to load on, and I think it is more designed to carry snowboards. This is still a great backpack with great features and tons of space. Dakine makes the best packs period.

I love everything about mine except for the ski carrying system. The top strap sucks horribly, and the only partial remedy I have found is tying a knot in the strap (if possible).

Yeh i love mine to.. Its hard to get fat skis in and some just wont fit tho.. But its a sweet pack for sure
