Daily throwdown ohseven-oheight!!!

and.....How could I forget!,.....I got to take a few runs with E-Rut both days. and half a run with Chris on Saturday, because further down, he double ejected 3 different times in the same run, and got very crabby and left within the first 10 minutes he was there. Yeah Hotrod. :-)

whats your reasoning for hating on no-poles? Henrik's was "you just need to have them" which i didnt find very helpful

steve, i'm not hating on you, but i know i could have just as good of style as you without poles, ohh papa luke hanson too he's good.. and there are a whole grip of people that could be more steezy. as long as you're aware of where you're arms are, have poles or not doesn't matter one bit.

I just don't think thats a good enough reason to hate on no poles....i guarantee there are more people that look like shit using poles than without. Poles just aren't necessary for park skiing, thats that. I am yet to see one person look like a "clown" because of no-poles, if your hands go up without poles, they go up with poles, its not like they're heavy enough to pull your hands down. But if you come up with a better reason, I'm all ears. And yes, drew pulls off the no-poles, it allows him to actually grab his ski's, unlike someone we know. eh, eh

People definitely need to stop hating on no poles. It's getting really obnoxious, nobody has a good reason to hate on them.

i think it's mostly about people just jumping on a band-wagon. which is pretty much what skiing is all about

just do what you want i think, i ski no poles a lot because my shoulder hurts but i ski with poles a lot too. no poles is more fun i think. who cares what people think.

yes sir, travis and matt are two of the best urban rail riders i ve ever seen, so consistant and litlle man is fearless taking after big bro. tricks were thrown on this quad and on a down, wait to see

like steve says if u dont like poles dont use them if u do go ahead

i personally use them depending on mood and where im riding:

hyland- rope tows and mostly rails = no poles, except when im doin the kickers

spirit- more jumps and the chairlift = poles

out west- poles no matter what

anything involving hiking- no poles = less stuff to carry

i have no problem switchin between using them and not, grabs are a lil easier w/o poles but jumps are easier w/ them

seriusly who the fuck cares, drew is one of the best riders in the midwest whether he has poles or not.

i just have fun skiing thats wat its all about.

allen i was looking at some pics and i think what we were doing was reverse tails. not leading. either way they are hard.

i think reverse and leading tails are the same. spinning left grabbing right tail. spinning left grabbing left tail would be normal.

yeah allenwhat we weredoing was grabbing leftski with left hand while spinning left. haha

but tongiht on the long down rail i got frontside su  blind 2 out, front 4 out, lipslide 2 out and i was tring 2s on but coulnt hold for the whole rail. super fun rail.

yay drew!! i voted 10 and i think it bumped to 4th!! congrats on the sik vid. wish i could have been there to shred with you

not sure why I've been so tired lately, maybe its the weather, but sleeping is by far the single-most enjoyable activity I've experienced in awhile......... after skiing. Not gunna lie. Its been really nice going to bed early lately. Thats my throwdown.

Going to Wild on Saturday when the high is supposed to be -3 and windchill -25, but its for park crew, so I'll just sit inside a lot. HAHAHA! :-)

late.

i read the ask a pro : grete elliasson part of freeskier whilst taking a doo doo today and noticed one of the questions was from travis halverson! like omg!! omg!!

my knee feels good dave, it gets sore, but it goes away within a day or so. not a big deal. still only hitting the smaller jump at wild, but it's big enough for some fun stuff.

and drew, you should try to come friday night, me and luke and cody will be there for sure.

idk cause you go out like super wide then cut in then go down the vert most will come in and jump into right along side

ok so, i finally went to wild today and heres what i think:

the yumps were pretty good, but i guess i wasnt really feeling em so i didnt do much

the rail set up was great, i loved the 40 footer, one of the best park reals ive ever slid. all the rails were set up smoothly and everything was nice

the bigger jump was kind of weird because it seemed like you had to really fast into a jump that wasnt that incredibly big, i dont know maybe i was just high

glad you had fun matt!, at least thats what I gathered from what you wrote.

and yes, it is weird to go THAT fast at a jump THAT BIG or SMALL (whichever), but a lot of it has to do with snow conditions too, speedwise atleast. It is known to a lot of kids at wild as "The Big Air" jump, but as the season progresses that sucka keeps shrinking, but the next re-set, is the 30th, so I can help start letting them know the jump should be bigger. its measured at 45ft right now though, so i think we'll only get 50ft. But regardless, that how we shred that jump, lap after lap.....

I love good karma! I donated to a company at the gas station today and I was repayed with one of the best nights of my life.
