My dad is looking at new skis and he wants to get the K2 PE for $280. I am trying to find a better deal right now and convince him to go with somethin else. He doesn't want to go much over $300 so if anyone knows of any deals around that would be sweet.

He's 5'9, 170 lbs. Skis mostly groomers, and some bowls here in Colorado so i want to find him some ARV's or Guns or BC's, but its hard at that price. At the least I could hook him up with a better ski of the same size. Let me know whats out there right now.

If he is looking for a freeride ski I really enjoy my prophets 80, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great all mt ski.

yo dude i think he should get chronic wides or maybe some blends(too expensive i think tho). or else yea arv's and guns would be good. and i saw a new pair or pocket rockets somewhere not long ago that could be rly perfect for him. ill look 4 em.

ya i think i was giving advice for what i like, the PE might be good for him even though i don't favor them

dude, dont put down the PE. It's a sick ski, I rock it all over the mountain, spending about 50% of my time in the park and about 20% bumping and about 30% in the woods. I can rock kids in all those catagories and the ski is def not holding me back anywhere. Go for the PE.

prophets dont delam. its just a fact. bacons, invaders, etc....yea, theyv been known to delam. but iv never ever heard of prophets delaming.

He should. The PE, while originally created as a park ski, is very good all mtn. They would work fine for him, and there is no reason to have a fatter ski when he skis a large amount of groomers.

The only bad thing I've heard about the PE is that its a "dead" ski, and the topsheet chips. If you dad isn't throwin down in the park or beating up on his skis he might not really notice either of those things, in which case they would be a sick ski for him. If thats not the case or you go a different route, I think the ARV would be sick if he likes soft or maybe the BC if he doesnt. As for the Prophets, its possible the 80s wont cut it so maybe the 90s. I've never heard of the prophets delaming at all.

ya i know for the most part which skis are good for him, but i was looking for deals for the most part

Yea I'd just let him get those PEs new for 280. since he probably doesnt' do much park riding he should get new ones since he can probably keep them in good condition so buying new will definately be worthwhile.

Try looking in ski shops for old demos or something. A lot of the time you end up with something that's only been skiied a couple times for half the price.

My dad rocks the PE's too, he hits the park every once in awhile but is mostly an all moutain skier, and he loves them. I think he got them as demos from our ski shop. They had been used 4 times and one of those was my dad trying them out. So it's a good deal

if he just skis groomers why would you want a wide twin tip? he should look into an all mountain mid fat. using public enemies to ski just groomers is like driving a jeep in an F1 race.

Yeah I totally agree...if he is looking for something bigger underfoot go w/ the Volkl AC4. But if he is into the twintip look like many of us are I agree w/ shas ^^, hit the demo shops.

Does he know if he likes his ski soft or stiff will help narrow down choices b/c its all based on preference. I know, I demo both the PE's and Foil's and hated them, but I know ppl on here that swear by both those skis.

If I was going for an all mtn ski and skiing some bowls... I heard the dynastar legend 8800 pro (I think...) is a pretty hot ski for all mtn performance carving etc
