title is the sparknotes....

so i dont feel like playing lacrosse this year, and its my junior year of highschool....

i know i could have made varsity, well still can....but i just know im not going to have much fun and on top of it my coach is a psycho and my team has no comraderie whatso ever.....

when i told my dad i wasnt plannin on playing.....his shirt temper kicked in and he basicaly ripped me ten new assholes....hes never screamed at me like he did just now, and hes never said the types of things he said.....

moraly of story is i havnt cried in 5 years and he just made me cry....and i think thats fucked up....

is my dad outta line for being so pissed off?

yea im expecting a big argument when i announce im not gonna due track.

i have done it since i was like 7 and all through my mom and dad have helped out alot so it means something to them or something.

for deciding not to play....

im getting my car taken away

im not allowed to go skiing till next year

and im not allowed out of my house except on friday and saturday...

Your team sounds a lot like my team, Except I am the opposite. I started playing for the first time this year as a junior, just to be on JV and rock the shit out of some small ass freshmen.

But yes, I agree, parents are outa line sometimes when it comes to their kids and sports. Was your dad like a big lax player when he was in school?

That's shitty, he shouldn't yell at you for not playing. Unless you have a god-given talent for lacrosse and you could get a full ride scholarship.

Your punishment is absolute bullshit lol

you parents shouldnt force you to do sports that you dont want to.

thats scary

and taking away your car??? and skiing?? thats ridiculous.

what a fucking dick head. you need to set him straight. sit him down first and try and talk calm about it and tell him how you feel. if he starts getting pissed or won't listen fucking make him. seriously if my dad did that, shit would be going down. most likely me getting my ass kicked but i am not gonna lie i would probably try to beat his ass. sure it's immature but if i tried everything else first, i'd do it.

Ya, my parents forced me to do Track and Cross Country, and I just told them no matter what I'm not doing it this year. And I'm not because "my grades need to be my top priority" which really isn't...

man up and play it. i hate to say but sometimes you just have to do shit you don't want to and do what your parents want, it's just the price you pay for being a kid.

I also just decided to not play lax (im a junior too) and fortunately my dad is happy because he never liked any of the other lax parents

water polo is not a pussy sport, u gotta be in fucking shape to play it

and my dad is obsessed with jsut activity in general

last year he was ranked 6th in the world for his age group in ironman triathalons....hes like a local legend....but its sucks cuz he yells at me for watching tv even for more than like 15 minutes...

that's crazy man. I'm glad my parents have always put more of an emphasis on school work than school sports. plus they know skiing is my life and surfing comes next and I stay active and work out on my own.

i know its tough to care about hs sports but i dont know

WATCH THE MOVIE "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS" it has a kid in a similar situation. Highschool is the glory days man, you might want to take advantage. plus if your any good it will help you get into/pay for college

and my parents are pretty chill with that shit. i play soccer and that's it. i quit basketball going into highschool and i was pretty good, but they understand skiing comes first. they put more emphasis on academics than sports which is cool with me.

honestly i wish i stayed at my old school so i could have played lacrosse... i wouldnt be able to ski nearly as much but i miss the whole team aspect and the sport all together. trust me to dude play.

seriously dont play lax if you dont want to, he will cool off, if not tell him he is being an asshole, but maturely, if that doesnt work be a sarcastic asshole, it gets parents so mad if you dont raise your voice at all and just respond with sarcastic comments, i love that one.

But its kind of wierd your dad would get that pissed, i quit hockey and lax, hockey so i could ski all winter, and lax just because i played it for to long, and my dad just wanted me to find something else to do, so now im gunna start windsurfing more seriously, and its pretty dope because my dad is dirt so its something i get to do with him

intenseeee sport. if i were gonna pick a sport to get back at him it'd be something more like ping pong.

dont be a pusy and do a team sport. you'll regret it. college isnt like highschool where you can dick around and be on a team without putting in shitons of effort. id change your mind

over the top, but encouragement to play a sport is a great thing, think about what you would really want out of your kid, you may want them to be that super star varsity player as well, yah know?!?!

dude lax is so fun. I re-live my glory days in lax in my dreams nightly and plan on living through my children and having them be sick at it... Definately stick with it you will probably regret it after you are sitting at home doing nothing when you could be out tooling kids on the lax field.

your dad is too serious about this stuff and obviously did not make you cry enough from physical beatings as a child.

see theres your problem, hes jewish

but really, i'm sure theres otehr reasons behind this, and if not, then he will cool off after a little while

Little scared of your dad huh, suck it up and yell back at him. He'll be like wtf? I remember i used to be intimidated by my dad if he yelled, key is to yell back with your rebuttal and they usually take it and listen.

idk why so many people are encouraging him to stay with lacrosse....don't we all ski or snowboard because team sports aren't or us. I used to hate coaches and shit in middle school so i started snowboarding and that was it
