So NS, what kind of weekend projects or DIY things are you currently working on or have finished??

I'll post mine below

This is what I did this week.

sorry for the bad image quality, my phones camera is half broke..

sorry for the triple post.. should've added this in the OP.

I made this thread because its always fun to show people what you've been working or built or did yourself. Plus it could give other people ideas and solutions or motivation to get out and do something productive!

If this thread works, great! if not. then oh well..

i just finished restaining all of the decks on my property. also stripped and repainted the permanently installed grill (hooked up to the gas line) on one of my decks because it was peeling and looking old and ghetto as fuck, but now it looks beautiful. nothing really fun...just typical homeowner shit.

as soon as i get my ski boat back from the shop, i'm going to work on redoing all of the interior...that'll be a little more fun.

threads for when I get home and can take a picture of my recently completed kegerator

I know how that all goes, i grew up as a paint contractors son, i've stripped and stain many decks in my day. I'm sure it looks great tho!

nice!

I built a lamp out of a ski boot and a ski pole. Built it on my own, other than help from my dad with the electrical stuff.

making a fully functional combination safe locking mechanism to practice safe manipulation. Currently figuring out the proper shape to the lever so when in fits into the cam gate it'll give enough linear movement without too much pressure on everything.

Sadly I don't have any diy project going on at the moment but I really want to make myself a bike repair stand so might have to start that soon.

helping my mom lay down some fresh tile on our stairs. looks pretty decent, still have to grout it and all that jazz. might post pics of anyones interested, just shit to do to pass time in between summer classes and starting work next week. bored as fuck.

I'll have pictures of it soon, but it has this kind of concept:

recently bought a 2004 wrx that needs some work. just this weekend i replaced brake pads, rotors, bled the brake lines and put in new fluid. next weekend i'll be putting in a new coolant expansion tank and doing a coolant flush. also wheels and tires should be here within the next few weeks :)

eyeing up transit vans on ebay, planning to do a camper conversion next summer! getting ideas and money together this summer. getting pretty excited for possible trips that could be done!

Tearing up the carpet in my master bathroom and laying down some tile

Was my biggest complaint when I bought the house and it feels good to be rid of it

totally read that wrong.. who puts carpet in a bathroom???

lol this, cant even begin to imagine how nasty that stuff is around the toilet. doo-doo/piss-crusted carpet sounds like one of the worst things ever.

Built a pool table for about $75 works well and is waterproof so I can just leave it on the patio year round.

What did you use to make a water proof pool table for only $75? More specifically, what did you use for the bed?

DIY aggressive inlines. Only bought the grind frames and got skateboard wheels from a friend.

I made a bike repair stand, its crazy easy. it took maybe half an hour and like $20

My band and myself started a music festival with eachother last year, it started as about 40 people on top of a mountain listening to our band. Last month we threw it for our 4th time and raised a considerable amount of money to fund the show and all profits went to a local charity. We had a bunch of sponsors and 4 bands. Our band is William H. Klink and the festival is called the Shabang.

This video is from the 3rd Shabang, beautiful sunset

This was from the most recent, our guitarist got fucking pitted on humans.

we havea bunch of great pictures as well but these should do some justice for scenery and size.

How did you end up making it? If you got some photos that would be nice. There are tons of ideas online on how to make one but I haven't decided what rout to go yet, I want to make one that is relatively easy to move so that I can take it outside for washing but at the same time my bike is a pretty heavy so I need to make sure its sturdy enough, most ideas online seems either really big or very flimsy.

Worked on an old Vespa this weekend with a buddy. He is restauring it for someone else after he did one for himself. Really fun project, not to difficult, you could make some nice cash if thats what you want, but now I really want to restore one for myself and just cruise around..

Tell me about it, clearly wasn't thought out beforehand

The teardown wasn't too bad, now pretty much just need to put down cement board and then some tile
