Czar vs. Gun vs. S5 vs. S6 , Help

I know that there are plenty “pick a ski for me threads”,

but since they often receive a couple of helpful replies I’m creating this one. I’m limited to these skis for they are the

only ones I can get good prices on. Hopefully

the skis will be used in lift accessible Utah

snow.

For my skiing style I prefer to take my time in

soft snow, I like trees, tight turns, soft and playful skis, natural rollers,

bumping into stumps and logs, and maybe trying tricks of small drops and doing straight

airs of cliffs no higher than 25ft.

I will NOT

be charging sun and wind crust chutes, strightlining, billygoating, rock

hopping, hurling off big cliffs, and all out charging. I don’t want a 195 cm 2x4 than could run over/run

through a gaggle of small children all the while im not feeling a thing

I can find a lot of info on the Czar, but not much on the

other three

I know that maybe another ski besides these 4 would better

suit my needs, but out of the 4 skis which you recommend.

If it helps, I/m 5’11 and around high 150s to low 160

depending on how much I eat/poop/pee. I don’t

know my exact weight because the scale at my house is broken because someone

jumped off the stairs onto the scale and broke it.

"i like soft and playful skis"

that kinda rules out czars, S5s, and S6s. they are all stiff. i haven't flexed the gun yet though

well i have a pair of steezes aka the s6. they are deffeintly not stiff. they are th softest pair od skis i own.

well they aren't exactly the same, i flexed them and they were pretty stiff
i would recommend you look at bacons a lot, i have the 09s and love them
also, you should look at S7s and maybe even hellbents/eps, but s7s for sure

i'm interested in the czar too.. they are clearly salomons backcountry freestyle offering (see journal).. are they super stiff? anyone know someone who I can PM about them?

my friend loves his guns but he skis them as more of an all mountain ski.. they aren't that wide or that soft though.. for utah i would go wider for sure.. i don't know anything about the czar beyond tgr reviews.. the s5 is fairly stiff and more of a park/pow compromise.. the s6 is big but pretty stiff from what i hear... is it only salomon and rossi you can get cheap? because they are two companies who don't really have 'soft playful skis' for this season really..
