Cutting Poles?

I bought the K2 PE ski poles towards the end of last season and I haven't used em'yet.

My problem is that I bought them at 50" and at 5'10" they're a bit to long for me. I remember reading on here back when I bought them that this is fine and they can simply be cut... I just don't really remember how.

How would I go about cutting them to better fit my height? Seem the handles are on their pretty tight are they glued on or meant to come off... or what?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

^^ yea any shop should be able to cut them donw for ya. do you know what size you need?? if not its wicked easy to figure out. and a shop shouldnt chagre you all that much for it.
 
Its easy all you need is a vice and a saw. Rip the grip off by yanking the pole through the vice, then saw to what vere length you want, then slam the grip back on and your done.
 
use window cleaner and a pipe cutter the window cleaner lets the grips come off easy and the pipe cutter workes really good
 
any shop will do it for you but all you have to do is stick the grips in boiling water, pull them off, cut the pole, throw the grips back on, and you're golden.
 
A shop should do them for free. However, If you have a metal saw, one that is supposed to cut metal, measure where you want them cut and go for it.
 
thats why the armada pole system is so bomb. the handle just comes off when you turn flip this thing. mine have been cut twice already
 
same with my armada poles, didn't get it right the first time, so i went back and cut them again. fine tuning your gear is nice.
 
just do it yourself its really easy. Before you take off the grips figure out how much shorted u want them. Then just rip off the grips and cut off however much u want. You dont even need a vice.
 
just spary some paint thinner in there and the grip will come rite off. then cut it to size and put double sided tape on there and slide her back on.
 
they might fit you if you have your boots on and wen youre on your skis because then youll be 2-3 inches taller, and if youre still growing then keep them how they are
 
all you go to the shop guys are pussys. Get a hack saw, pull off the handle and cut a couple inches off. Its that easy, seriously takes no more then two minutes.
 
to get your grip off you can also open a door in your house or whatever and put the pole handle side up closest to the part the has the hinges then pull down hard and fast and the grip will come off
 
ya, go and get a hack saw or get a pipe cutter. both work well, and unless your mentally retarded you can use either of them.

fuck taking them into a shop. there is no fun in that. take a pipe cutter...manual will do just fine...and take off the grips. measure about where u want to cut..and remember...MEASURE TWICE...CUT ONCE...than wrap masking tape around the bottom side(towards teh ground) so it doesnt scratch the crap out of the metal...but it doesnt really matter becasue your grip will be covering it. cut that shit.

then take a metal file...and file down the edges. show the grips back on...FINNITO!
