Cutting poles down

I want to cut my poles me too and Ive seen on NS a thread and they say: Put the ''grip'' in hot water to remove of poles, cut the poles and set back the grip...

But im not sure and I don't try it so..

Usually if you're local shop is hella tight they'll cut 'em for free. I bought some like $20 dollar lifetime warranty poles from my shop and they were of course too big for even Shaq so they cut em down for free there. But my friends have gone after making no purchase and they cut em.

clamp your pole in a vise and pull on the grip, it'll pop off, then take a hacksaw and saw it to desired length, then put grip back on

I got my poles cut at a shop in Tahoe. Im sure most shops can do it. Got my 44 inch poles cut to a 26. soooo tight

it's really easy. do it eventhough you think it looks ghetto. Just put your grip in hot water so you can remove it easily. Cut it them where you want. put the grip back in place. BOOM.

What I did was boiled the handles in 7 inches of water for about 3 minutes then used a ski vice to clamp the handle and twisted the pole, releasing the bond of the adhesive and the grip from the shaft.

yup. do this.

or if you don't have a vice but have two people (what happened to me) use a door, but don't piss your mother off

Yeah, really easy to do. Soak the grips in hot water as mentioned above then yank and pull on them until they come off, one grip took me almost five minutes of constant pulling.

the best way i have done it is heating up the grip with a hair dryer and then mark where you want to cut them and eather use a hack saw or a pipe cuttergood luck

I dissagree, take a pot of water and boil the grips in it for about 30-60 seconds. I have copmosite poles just make sure if you have poles like this you tape the ends your cutting, it keeps them from splintering.

HAHAHAHA, but yeah, just use a hack saw or pipe cutters to cut em to length, and then just slap the grips back on.
