what you do is buy so ridiculous flowers, go to her work, and surprise her. and shes bound to say yes. i mean what girl can say not to flowers.
 
shit you don't even need to ask her to be your girlfriend. just one night out of the blue ask her where your relationship stands. you might even get the answer you're looking for.

The skiing idea is great, just go ride with her all day and then ask if she wants to watch a movie or something with you afterwards. At your house obviously, and the sound of two pairs of snowpants rubbing together is very interesting...
 
for dessert have the restaurant make a cake/bring in your own with a personalized message on it written in some kind of topping, that'd be cute

for my last gf bday she said all she wanted for a present was a kinder surprise thing. so i hid a gold necklace in it with a note saying happy bday and melted the chocolate back together and gave it to her.

maybe do something where you surprise her with it like that.
 
wow i didn't even know that people still "ASKED" girls to be their girlfriends...i thought it just went like, "would you want to go to dinner w/ me?" or some shit, then when she says yes you go out have a good time...then you SCORE when you take her home and wham..no need to ask her, its implied at that point...unless you hooked up w/ the queen of all sluts..and in that case you just beat the living pooop outta whoever she fucked after you just to make her feeel like a worthless piece. :)
 
just because she skis doesn't mean shes hot, from my experience most chicks that ski aren't hot its more like an 80% of them are ugly and 20% hot. But throw up a link to her myspace or a picture of her.
