cut skis

My 2002 1080s have pretty bad cuts in the top layer of the ski in muliple places. Does anyone know if they can be repaired? Cause the scratches are down to the wood. They don't affect performance, so there really no need to get new skis, besides they're really sweet. I'd appreciate help.

if they don't affect performance why repair them?

how can they be down to the wood if there is no wood in the ski?

Well they kinda look like crap on the top, and I don't know i just wish they looked a little better, and yeah I think there is some kind of wood base in the ski, right? Well if not, then let's just say there's all really deep cuts.

1080's have a foam core... anyway I have the old blue ones and the same problem. It isn't just a cosmetic problem because water can get into the core and mess up the ski. Try using epoxy in deep gashes and you can cover that with nail polish that matches the color of your ski. It has worked well for me.

i have that too in my vinnies the guy at my ski store gave me some epoxy stuff to cover it so water doesn't get in there and they cores are wood atleast it looks just like wood
