Customizing poles

Defiantly would have to put something protective over top or otherwise it would just flake off and look gross

definitely clear coat if you end up painting them, i sanded down my pins and gave them 3 layers of primer and 5 coats of paint and they still looked horrid after the first day (didnt have any clear coat at the time)

related, if anyone at timberline finds said pair of poles (they have a super chipped white and black finish) next to the park shack at the top of normans, call me.

Yeah you can't not clear coat it even with a zillion cans of primer and paint they will chip I know that I just did my rims and they came out so fucking good

I painted mine, yes it is doable and I know a ton of people who do it. I wouldn't do it unless you are cutting them down and the logo's on it will get messed up because no matter how thorough of a job you do, the paint comes off 1000x easier than how they come from the factory.

Well yeah I got a big pair of fucking poles I'm thinking paint them clear coat them and throw fucking bike gribs on it

Well, yeah it cam be done, just keep in mind the paint will look like its been through world war 2 after a couple days

You can try it, like I said a lot of people do paint their poles, but I have seen few that hold up well

Hahahah the camo ducktape ill just go get the tye dye one and do my poles with it... Now everyone on the mountain will copy that shit

I used colored tennis grip on my ghetto pole grip on the ones I cut down. The shaft still looks like shit though because they were some old beat up poles

This summer i painted my poles with a camo drip finnish, and i sanded the original paint off, did 3 layers of primer, 3 layers of the different camo colors, and finished it off with 3 coats of clear varnish spray paint. Its still holding up after 75+ days of riding them. I mean they still have scrapes of paint come off in a few places but it doesnt look bad at all.

The best solution to using poles. Don't use em they get in the way and cost money. No poles = better grabs$

Just sanded and scraped all paint/graphic with sandpaper and a knife. now they are just silver which is pretty dope to me plus no worries about any paint chips at all.

"borrow" them from rentals at your home mountain, or you can just buy cheap shitty poles from 80-90s at a thrift store or something.

Barrow as in take? Is it easy no disrespect to mountain workers or anything.. I rember my friend took boots but that was snowboarding
