Custom rockering skis?

I've heard of park skis naturally getting some rocker to them from doing a ton of butters.

i was thinking that i might be able to rocker my AK Enemies by placing each under a bed post at the head of my bed. then placing a 2X4 or evenly sized books under the tip and tail of each ski. and i geuss ill have to make sure to sleep in the perceft center of my bed so that they are getting even pressure. do you guys think this will work?

if so, if anyone has some technical knowledge could you answer these questions:

how high off the ground(how big of an object should i put under the tips and tails)should the skis be

should i place the boot center of true ski center under the bed post(the bindings arent mounted yet)

should i simply place the ski derectly under the bed post, or should i place a short piece of wood over the center of the ski so that the rocker wouldnt start to rise until it gets closer to the tips

or is this just a halfassed idea that gonna break my brand new skis

they're new, i still dont have the bindings mounted, but i have a pair of armadas to ski for a while, cuz im assuming it would take about a week if not more for the skiis to hold the bend to them,

ya....rockering isnt the best thing to go to a pair of new skis....it ruins the flex of the ski, and the skis, if rockered, will probably only hold up for about a week of heavy skiing before something bad happens.(snapping them)  i would only try to rocker an old pair of urban or rock skis.  if you want a rockered pair that bad, moment skis makes some.

spoken true.

Made'ns /ak enemies are torsion box, with no metal. just wood and fiberglass. if you try to rocker them, the only way to do wt would be by bending the wood itself. once a ski is maade, that's not such a good idea... the rocker will probably slowly go back into place and the core of the ski will be damaged in the places where it ben

I will cry if you do that to a brand new pair of Made'Ns. You should just sell them and buy Hellbents if you really want a rocker. Or just ski the Made'Ns because they are more practical.

ya your best bet would be to find some skis w/ lots of metal in them then do what you were thinking of. The metal will hold the bend

it took me about two months this summer to rocker my skis, i taped them together, and put rope around the skis where i wanted the new contact points. i started with small gauges in the tip in the tail. i would let them sit in the hot sun all day and pour boiling water over the new contact points. i went to argentina in august and i tried them out. they were awesome. the only thing was when i did a switch cartwheel the tip stuck in the snow and one broke exactly where i rockered it. making the rocker my one problem was one ski started to take the rocker quicker and it was hard to balance the rocker back out. unless you got these skis for free i'd advise against it. especially park skis. i used pvc for the gauges and the last size i used was about a 4 inch diamater. the tips are barely two inches apart without the gauges.

If you do that they'll be completly reverse camber and it'll take hella long to do. If you want them rockered clamp the skis together infront of the toe pieces and behind the bindings. Shove a piece of 2x4 inbetween the skis on either end as far as you can push it in, buy a heat gun and melt that epoxy. Move the 2x4s closer to the bindings and repeat several times until desired amount of rocker has been achieved with no 2x4s inbetween skis.

Don't expect to get more than 10 days on the skis though seeing as you're destryoing them. Not trying to steer you away from doing it just warning you

Ya, this is gonna be my first season out west, so im gonna be doing a ton of BC and very little park, and I'll be skiing close to evey weekend, so I'll keep them as they are.

thanks for the advice guys.

if you wanna break those skis, send them to me, ill do it for you and i promiss i will send them right back to you.................

I think he meant that a rockered ski is good for just doing butters goin down the groomers, but they make it harder to do tail presses on rails.

You could probably find someone to swap for Hellbents. Some people are pissed off that the Maiden/AK isn;t around any more.
