Custom Painted ON3P Jeffrey 110

I've been painting my own skis for a while, and am super happy with how this pair turned out. I started with inspiration from the design of how wax hardened on the base of skis (I'm a ski tech, I see a lot of wax on bases), and rolled with it from there.

The skis were painted with a mix of Posca Paint Pens and Acrylic on a primed base. I finished them with a spray on clear coat. 1038327.jpeg1038330.jpeg

Damn all you guys are so creative with your skis, I'm out here with stock topsheets like a fool.

Looks sick OP!

Holy cow those are sweet! How long did this take!

The whole process probably took about 4 days, but that includes sanding, priming, painting and sealing. I like to leave lots of dry time between steps

Can we get a full picture? I mean it looks cool but I can't see it. just one paw is showing... where's the rest?

Thanks.

Btw your skis are incredibly cool, you did a really good job

Thanks homie, I appreciate the props.

Now I just have a pair of primed Candide 5.0s in the corner waiting for a splash of inspiration

How much sanding should I do on mine. I’m painting my arv 86 the 2018 ones(butt ugly graphic) you used acrylic paint pens and how nothing special for the primer. Just normal spray paint primer?

Sand it Until the gloss comes off, just normal spray paint primer, like krylon. I used acrylic paint and posca paint pens. I finished it with krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze and it held up the best of any clear coat I’ve used

Thanks big dog. I appreciate it. I’ll post the pictures on here when I get it finished!

Thinking about doing the same for some jeff 110s i just got... How is the paint job holding up a couple months later?

Yep they still look good. Just make sure to really sand the top sheets, like with a palm sander until all the gloss is off, prime em then finish it with the krylon triple gloss sealer from walmart. Its the best sealer ive used and protects the paint job the best
