So what would be the best way to get that graphic on the sweatshirts?

If you look hard, you can find high quality print and iron on sheets which work really well. Another suggestion would be tightly woven felt

This method works great, I've been doing it onto shirts for a while. Take a look at Doitup's pictures if you want to see how it comes out.

Print the design onto a sheet of overhead paper (clear plastic stuff), then cut out your graphic with an exacto knife. Now you have a stencil. Tape the stencil onto wherever you want it. Buy some fabric paint and apply it to your shirt with a sponge, by dabbing onto the fabric. Be sure to put some cardboard inside the shirt and be careful with the paint, and other than that no problems! Good luck.

yeah this is actually something im planning on doing with smaller logos (like 2-3 inches x 2-3 inches) but on the bigger ones i think its too much to embroider

i did this process, except i couldnt find overhead paper so i used a stiff waxy type paper so the paint wouldn't soak through and it would hold its shape as the stencil. Also instead of using a sponge i just dabbed the paint on with a brush. Basically the same, but here is the end resultView attachment 438096
