Custom clothing?

I'm not talking about screen printing. I'm talking about designing clothes, like designing stripes and plaid and rain jackets and stuff. I've seen a lot of small companies doing but they don't sew them themselves. Are they outsourcing their specific ideas to factories, and if how would I go about doing this? Or if they are sewing them how do you obtain custom fabrics?Does anybody know? Can't find anything about it.

I think most of them outsourced to china or wherever like virtika did. Probably not the greatest place to ask cause all the people on here that have "custom clothing" or "ski companies" or whatever else they want to call it are just making meh screen printed bs shirts. sorry i know that doesnt really help. you could try messaging Lesh hes got an account on here no clue if he still looks at it or if hed be willing to help but could be worth a try.
