Current NBA player Jason Collins comes out as gay

True that. It really doesn't fucking matter at all. People shouldn't care, and it really shouldn't matter at all. Hell, I hate the word gay. It's so stupid. I hate typing it, I hate saying it, I hate hearing it, no matter the context. There shouldn't be a special fucking word for it, the whole ordeal pisses me off.

And the fact that it is a big deal for some people is just horrible and crushing. I mean, I want to slap them and tell them to fuck right off because all it does is just makes mine and your life and whoever else's fucking miserable.
 
People are stuck in their ways. I was brought up super religious so gay people were making horrible lifestyle choices and god hated them. My parents still believe that strongly and send lots of money to campaigns to keep any progress from happening on that front.

It doesn't make sense how something somebody else does that doesn't involve them, can bother them so much.

Bigots are lame.
 
This is going to sell so many jerseys to the gay demographic. such a good marketing move for the wizards and the NBA. $$$$$
 
I was going to post that. Skateboarding is probably one of the most homophobic sports out there, and I could see there being a lot of backlash against openly gay skaters.

And to all the people saying "why is this news blah blah", it IS important. Sports are held up as a hetero thing to do. "Real men play football, or rugby, or basketball". Collins is defying this stereotype, and showing that gay men are not all fashionistas or nonathletic. It further proves that LGBTQ people should not be discriminated against. Furthermore, Collins is also religious to an extent, going against the main anti-gay protests of gay marriage being against god's wishes. I can't believe gay marriage is not legal everywhere yet.
 
I had forgotten that newschoolers consists of 12 year olds, so obviously it's not a big deal to them, either because they assume that everybody is fine with gays except the south or they don't have the life experiences (friends coming out, etc.) that make them realize that gays go through a lot of shit. (Pun?)

Keep that in mind before you comment. Not that that has ever stopped anyone before
 
It might be an attempt at suggesting he sucks at basketball, but China would make more sense as a destination in that case.
