Curious about a Biggie Smalls line

I was bored thinking about life today and realized, Biggie states " Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight, Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade." now Biggie died in march 9th, 1997 and the world trade blew up November 11th, 2001. please explain its driving me crazy!

if this seems pointless just end the thread after someone tells me whats up.
 
The world trade center was hit by a car bomb in like 1992 or something.

I know when I heard that I was confused too.
 
he probably meant that the world trading system was blowing up, if i remember right, there was a recession in the 80s and into the 90s
 
All the people saying the WTC was bombed before 9/11 are lying. Its obvious that the only explanation for such a lyric is that Biggie had psychic powers.

Maybe he's talking about world trade, not the world trade centers. As in, globalization is getting bigger, which it really was and still is.
 
I wondered the same thing, thought it was just maybe prescience on Biggie's part. I doubt he would get away with that line now, or if he would even write it now, too freighted. It's an example of how art can change or take on a different meaning with time.
 
the reason most people dont know about the 1993 attack is becase it was a lot more minor han 9/11 A LOT...

i think if you buy it off itunes a lot of biggies shit is edited to. like they have no unedited version or something. i may be wrong

its not really taught too deeply... well when i was in school it wasnt. even when a plane flew into the trade center building way before the bombing... thats all lost in history really.

also wasnt a huge event, there is bombings probably everyday around the
