Curiosity Rover landed on Mars Monday.

I am very fascinated by all this. Many people may think it's stupid, a waste of time + money but I truly don't think so. I mean, don't talk about money expenditure when US government spends 45% of its national budget on military.

It is amazing to believe, or imagine that this rover is right now, in the middle of the gale crater on a 250million distant planet. Well here's a BBC article about it, check it out and lets discuss.

I for one find this to be insanse. For them to do all that math to get it to land where it needed to? Amazing! 6 years trajectory with a spinning planet to land on and they did it perfect. I'm not too sure what it will find up there but hopefully its something groundbreaking!

really liked the seemingly over-complex landing method.

they had this rocket propelled thingy that put the actual rover slowly in his place with a rope.
 
I watched the live feed of the landing, it was so awesome. It's the biggest thing we have put on Mars yet, and it's a good step ahead when it comes to landing larger craft out there. It also has a micro nuclear power generator, so it can provide a strong signal when it needs to. I'm excited to see what kind of cool stuff such a lander can send back.

glad to see our tax dollars well spent, im sure they will find tons of useful stuff up there that will totaly help our country.
 
yeah the mini nuclear engine was a great call. Low waste, high efficiency, very powerful if needed
