I didn't mean to push submit yet. Pretty cool idea, but I couldn't tell how extensive the "psychic" ability will be. How wide will the range be? What if I want to drink rum and coke out of my cup and show off it's powers? Will it work, or just say Coca Cola? Or just be scrambled?
 
An empty glass resembles a meaningless colorful mosaic, until a liquid is poured into it, revealing its name. Each side of the glass is reserved for a specific drink. The Dekrypt glass though complex in appearance in fact runs on a very simple idea. Differently colored shapes are scattered across the glass surface in a seemingly random pattern, however their position is hardly accidental. The true purpose of the glass mosaic is revealed when colored liquid is poured into it (orange juice, milk, Nescafe or coke) The pattern of shapes and empty spaces on the glass combined with the color of the liquid inside the glass end up forming a textual sign, revealing what exact drink or refreshment you are having, with each side of the glass reserved for a specific drink. Besides being a novelty item with entertainment value it can also serve as a marketing item for beverage companies as it has a promotional potential.

Too bad for the asian cheerleader chick at my highschool that this wasnt around way back then. Someone peed in a cup and gave it to her at a party and told her it was beer. Boy were people laughing when she drank it up.

you guys need to read the info on the side of it, it doesnt "know" anything, it's tiles are just arranged so that when a certain color fills it up, it makes the name show up,

so anything other than the names on the side of the glass wont show up
 
does it actually say dr, pepper or coke, or does it say high fructose corn syrup?? that'd be bad ass if it could distinguish brands of soda

the colour of drink makes a certain colour of tile line up

it looks like a colorful mosaic and the color of the drink fills it in.. ok everyone must understand.
and i think the main use will be promotional for like a blue drink or something, the cup comes with the drink and when you fill it up it says something cool.
 
there is no point. another useless piece of consumer crap that proves that people REALLY are that stupid to buy.
 
to add to that, GUYS! i have a great new invention for you! its a gun that tells you what brand of bullet you loaded it with! all you have to do is look down the barrel and pull the patented trigger device! instantly you'll find out what kind of bullet you had loaded the gun with!
 
the paper towel holder, usb drive, and pasta fork only interest me. but great innovations, the cup is just a little farfetched and not PRECISE
 
i thought the exact opposite, the 2-1 pasta tongs, stupid
now the dyson air multiplyer, that thing is cool (and it actually exists)
 
you got skiierman on your side, but i don't know if that helps...

i think it's a cool concept with a dynamic artistic touch. If all you care about is a container that holds a liquid, of course you think it's a waste of money. However, if you want add a bit of class to your glass, it's worth it.
