I just found out i got in to the art's and sciences school, i am soooe xcited. who else goes there and what do you think about it/ what should i know.

i have to decide over cu boulder art and sci. and u of utah pre business, i think i am going to go with boulder, and my twin sister is going to utah, or what do you guys think, which school would you choice and why?

Boulder is pretty cool. HUGE school, like 30,000, but you'll get that at any state or university. I like a smaler school, but that is just me personally. It's a pretty town but the traffic is TERRIBLE. It is really close to mountains and has easy access to skiing. I am actually considering transferring there next fall. Definitely take a trip and visit the campus, that's the only way to really get a feel for the school.

i can go there this summer for like college credits and stuff. Im only a sophmore but they've been sending alot of stuff to 'experience the school'.

Ill probably end up not going.

snowkristal- Traffic really isn't that bad. There are about 10 bus routes and you can walk to everything. I've been there several times and never had problems with traffic. It isn't like there is an interstate running through there or something.

 
Yeah, traffic isn't bad. You only need a car to get to the mountains. And they have buses that run to breck and keystone which are sweet. But yeah, CU is the shit. Its always sunny, lots of hot girls, crazy parties. Good ole time. I know a guy that went to UU and transfered back to CU after a semester. Great skiing there, but apparently absolutely no night life. Boulder has an awesome balance of everything.

 
what i know is that its an hour and half to ski a decent park. and very often its much longer on the return trip back to boulder. have fun in snowless colorado

 
I go there, it's nice, skiing's close, most people are from out of state and are conservative douchebags, but what can you do? Arts and sciences is an absolutely terrible school here though, if you're not in Leeds or Engineering (which are both top 25 departments in the country) you are getting a joke of an education. Especially stupid w/out of state tuition.

CU has conservatives? Seriously, I would say the whole city of Boulder is about 96% liberal. VERY liberal.

if you want a better education then go to CU, if you want to ski all the time go to UU. i skied about 40 days between october 11 and december 20 when i went home for xmas and pulled a 3.4.

Uhh, conservative? Are you sure you go here? God, if I hear one more 'Bush sucks, vote Kerry' I'm gonna shoot myself. But, arts and science pretty much does suck unless you do a respectable major(I'm a double major in biochemistry and biology). The business school is a complete joke, but somehow is highly rated. Engineering is really tough but highly rated. I was in chemical engineering, but switched out to what I'm in now cause it sucked. So basically, CU is a good school if you take the right thing. You can cruise through if you want too.

 
i got in there, but i'm gonna go to either colorado state university or mesa state college, i didn't care for the city of boulder or how a lot of your freshman/sophmore classes are taught by teacher aids

im thinkin about goin there (junior now) as a safety school not too sure yet. waitin to take SAT's. im tourin there spring break. but im also lookin at UCLA, NYU and some other film schools. not too sure yet.

True, the city itself is 96% liberal, but the campus isn't, mainly because of all the out of state people. Maybe my view is distorted, because on my floor in Kittredge, there are 3 liberals, and 38 conservatives. I've generally found it to be about a 70-30% conservative edge around campus though.

The other thing to think about- what business school in the region is better than Leeds? I mean seriosly, in ANY state that touches Colorado? There isn't one. BYU/Denver are the only ones that come close, and well...BYU...ya know...ya know...Anyway, if you want to live in the region, CU is a damn good school. Pretty much the same with engineering. CSM is the only comparable school.

DU is a decent business school, also Johnson and Whales is suppsedley good (I have never seen proof of this, since I never researched business schools).

And CU and CSM don't compare. They are 2 totally different atmosphere, and the closest thing we have to business is Economics and Enigineering and TEchnology Management Masters.

DU is great if you like spending $32K a year regardless of in-state or out.

yea not going to du, already decided that, and i am not allowed to goto cu denver cause they don't have dorms. its utah or boulder, and i applied to ubc bt prolly won't get in

yea i have visited utah, and i am visiting boulder at the end of the month, i am pretty sure i am going to boulder. i know aton of people going there/ there already so i think boulder would be better for me just cause i could go there and already know people, like nice to know people when you have never been some place before
