Ct surfing

So my main goal this summer is to get decent at surfing but I’m kinda stuck in ct vs usually spending some time on the cape. Where can I take some lessons around here?(within two hours) Rockaways? RI?
 
If you're just starting out, summer time is okay since the waves are always small. You could get a lesson at Sacred Surf School on the cape and if you're looking for a board I would highly recommend Vec surfboards. They're made by a shaper on the cape and he does really good work.
 
Also, Rhode Island has some pretty good surf for the east coast and will usually have more swell than up North since it's not protected by the cape. The cape itself is also pretty good you can usually find a beach somewhere that has good waves
