CSU ft. collins? anyone

i am from foco, but go to school elsewhere. CSU is a good school and foco is a great town, its a loong drive to go skiing though

I go to CSU. You looking for anything or just tryin to get an NS head count?

I wish this many people posted when I a thread in regionals about transferring here. Maybe NSG can be useful afterall.

anyone know what gpa is good to get into fort collins? im trying to find a place that doesn't take a genius to get in to.

Anwar al-Awlaki went to CSU

Now number 2 in al Qaeda!

ya man thats my back up but id really love to get out of new mexico so if theres anywhere in co that i could get in to that would be really nice

hahah owned....but im surprised nobody has dropped the "CU Boulder is way better" bomb yet...seriously though, it is way better

word im thinking thats what ill be at. I've gotten a 2.1, 2.5, 3.1, and i should have about a 3.0 this semester. well have to see how senior year goes, too.

I hear you on that one. UNM is a shitty place to get stuck. I'll be jealous of you if you make it north

I go to CSU. Im an of state student, pretty much everyone i met out here is really chill and down to earth. foco is a great time, always something to do pretty much and the bars are a lot of fun too. Only complaint i have is that its a fucking journey to get up to mountains.

boulder blows, if you wanna be around some of the worst people most annoying people in the world, then its great, otherwise go somewhere else.

this fucking ram/buff rivalry is so dumb. both places have their ups and downs and 90% of the people that perpetuate the rivalry are out of staters.

don't mean to thread jack wheres the closest ski area if you live in fort collins? or denver? or boulder? which city is the best location for skiing and fun in general?

Ft. Collins is 2 hrs min from any skiing. Denver is closer to Summit coun.... Nevermind look at a map.

Best city for under 21 fun is Fort Collins, best city for 21-23 is Boulder, after that Denver dominates.

ive made it to loveland from foco in about 1 hour 10 minutes speeding like crazy, under 1:20 is easy without speeding too bad.. keystone and breck can be done in 1:30-1:45 depending on traffic. vail is 2 hours..

FOCO IS WAY TO FAR FROM SKIING AND EVERYONE ONE OF MY CLASSMATES THAT ENDED UP THERE SEE'S MORE "SHOWS" ON DRUGS THAN SKIS OR BOARDS ANYMORE.

i feel like there is bitching about every single collage in co, i wish there was some place closer to summit country. does anyone know anything about colorado mountain collages?

you have friends that do drugs when they go to shows? they must be the scum of the earth. does that make you scum by association or what?

skiing is far away, but if you have BC skills, Cameron Pass is less than an hour an a half away and RMNP is about an hour. closest resort skiing is about 2 hours (guy above is retarded) without traffic.

bar scene is fun if you know which bars to avoid, house party scene is decent but not as good as boulder, and there's a great music scene. and yes, there's lots of drugs here, it's colorado, who the fuck cares.

Shlogan, don't bother with CMCs if you want a college education. Most are 2 year associate degrees. People who hate are just full of negativity and look for things to dislike. Give me any town/city and I'll tell you a reason to hate on it. I do hate how far away fort collins is from skiing, but you gotta remember that you're in school first, and skiing comes second, as much as it pains me to say that. Either way, there was only 3 weekends I didn't ski this season and it's not done yet. You just gotta find people to carpool with.

my definition of not speeding would be.. not speeding.i said not speeding too bad, which for me is averaging like 10-15 over. if it takes you 2 hours to make it to the tunnel you have to be driving like an absolute pussy. traffic on the weekends can be bad but you just have to get up earlier. even with traffic its hardly ever taken me 2 hours to get to the tunnel, going back is the only pain in the ass, but it sucks for denver and boulder people on i70 too. traffic once you get to i25 is usually not bad.plus you can always go through fairplay to 285, which only adds like 30 minutes for those really shitty traffic days, even less time if you speed cause you can hall ass since there are almost no cops.
i agree there are a lot of those douche bags that think fort collins is the greatest place ever, but those are the people living in old town, which i try to stay away from.. and boulders entire population has that attitude. i used to have to work with a lot of boulder people in my last job, and it seemed like almost every person that came in from boulder was just a pain in the ass to deal with and had the same snobby, stuck up attitude, always skeptical of anything we told them like they were getting ripped off. then all the college kids are either rich as fuck wannabe hippies, or stoners who act super chill but the second they find out you dont smoke or into something other than getting high and/or partying ever day they get all pissy. even the occasional nice stoner i dont like to be around because its like talking to a fucking 5 year old. shit i picked up my friend from a party in boulder, when i came in to get him, i stayed for like 5 minutes, and some piece of shit stoner literally tried to fight me because i wouldnt drink before i drove back home.
as for things to do, boulder is just as good as fort collins, i could care less about the party/bar scene in either town, because i dont drink, and i cant stand bars, or parties. so im not going to try arguing about that because i really dont give a fuck. but as far as things to do, boulder and foco are about tied, both have awesome surrounding areas, foco has pingree, pawnee, the poudre, horsetooth, rocky mtn natl park, etc.. i dont know as much about boulder, but from what i can tell it seems to have a pretty similar amount of great surrounding areas. and for things to do, both boulder and foco blow denver away.its just the people that i cant stand in boulder, even the surrounding areas of boulder the attitude seems to stay the same, atleast in foco, the shitty people are for the most part only concentrated around old town.

You are out of your tits if you are defending this less than 2 hour to tunnel garbage.

Google maps says 2 hours with no traffic, but there is going to be traffic unless you are going up the night before or something.

So lets just say 2 hours following the speed limit, then to make it you would have to just about double the speed limit. That means going 120-150 miles per hour, on a road that is infested with cops. So unless you are driving a Cessna or some type of rocket powered super car I am calling BS on your 1 hr 10 min story.

Everything else you say is 100% opinion and isolated stories.

Which is what I am going to now offer as well.

I have spent a fair amount of time in both cities and as far as location Boulder is far superior. As far as town I prefer Fort Collins, more local Colorado people, less traffic, just a much nicer town. If I could I would gladly move Fort Collins to Boulder.

As far as schools it is pretty much a wash, although I know a lot more kids from CU with jobs as opposed to CSU. All my friends I know who went to CSU are teachers, construction management, or jobless.

all i gotta say is that you sound just as full of yourself and stuck up as the people you're hating on. "it's like talking to a 5 year old"? gimme a fuckin break.

loveland pass is 112 miles away, that means you would have to average 56mph to make it in 2 hours. to make it in 1:10 you have to average 96, to make it in 1:30 you average 74. so you can make it in 1:30 doing less than 10 over the whole time.

you said 1:10 in your first post, average ~96 mph.

Semantics anyway, you are not making it to the tunnel in under 2 hours from Fort Collins, its just not going to happen. Maybe under ideal circumstances with no weather or traffic and no cops to ticket you, theoretically you could make it in 1:30 or 1:45 (there are some 55mph sections in there so you would be going ~20 over.) but if you are trying to tell skiers that they can make it under 2 hours average that is just not true. Plan on it taking around 2.5-3 hours from car start to Summit county skiing if you are going day of and maybe 2 flat for off day or the night before.

yeah averaging 96, so obviously you have to speed like crazy. and it was at like 2 in the morning so no traffic at all. and only saw one cop that my radar detector caught. im not saying 1:10 is realistic at all, but its certainly doable.but seriously, it has never taken me any more than like 1:45 unless i hit real bad traffic or road work. ive done the trip hundreds of times. you would literally have to be averaging a good amount below the speed limit the whole time to make it in 2 hours without traffic, i just dont see how it can take people that long. ive done the trip literally hundreds of times with either me or one of my friends driving and under 1:45 is easy as shit to do. 1:45 is like my average time to make it to breckenridge.

On average it took me 2 1/2 hours to get so vail +- 15 minutes depending on traffic.Abasin usually takes me 1 hour 45 minutes-2 hours
I havent really run into terrible traffic but I mainly ski weekdays. I only hit traffic once on a saturday and it ended up taking me around 30 minutes longer to get to abasin.
Traffic around thorton builds up both ways but usually only lasts for about 3-4 exits and takes about 10-15 minutes.
