anyone have thiers? i was thinking abougt getting mine this year. so what do yous think about it? and for the people without it, do you care to get it?

Wanted:

A tall, well built women with good

reputation, who can cook frog

legs, who appreciates a good fuc-

shia garden, classical music and tal-

king without getting too serious.

But please only read lines 1, 3, and 5
 
I'm considering getting it, but it's a lot of money and you really gotta get a good skier to criticize your technique beforehand, or you might fail.

 
Got Level 1 two years ago. Might get Park and Pipe this year.

If you can can follow directions and ski well in the worst conditions you can pass. In my group two people failed the teaching test, 20-something failed the skiing test because they couldn't maintain proper form through the horribly horrible conditions on the hill on test day (slushy foggy bumpy flat lighting blech). Any other day most of them would pass.

Anyway, you will get stuck teaching mostly 3 - 7 year olds with a Level 1 cert. I tought 2 lessons to people who were skilled enough to use poles last year.

Don't do it because you want a free pass to the mountain and discounts on gear/lift tickets, do it because you love skiing anywhere/anytime with anyone and want to share that.

I love seeing people improve their skiing, and have no problem talking about Spongebob Squarepants for hours on end with 6 year olds so it is a good job for me.

 
Im doing the NZSIA stage1 this year. I just showed my manual to a mate with his CSIA and he couldnt believe how indepth ours is. We have an 8day exam!

 
ive got my level 1, and am goin for level 2 this year. in my opinion, the course was very easy. the focus of the course is to have good demonstrations on proper stance, straight run, wedge stop, wedge turn, and basic paralell( skiddy turns). My cousre was 2 days. we spent the mornings inside reading the book and watching movies, then the afternoons on the hill. in my level 1 class there were like 7/20 guys with twins. i think it really helps when your teaching if u can ski switch good. i think 1 person failed.

but teaching is such a sweet job, i love it. i got 'rookie of the year' at my hill.

got it a couple nights ago

and i got a job at snow hawks like the day after i think its gonna be fun as far as the course goes u just gotta be technical and like remember everything they tell you
 
Just remember:

If your course conductor tells you to do something stupid, tell him he's a stupid piece of shit, a total fraud and has no business teaching this shit. Then tell him I told you to say that.

I wrote the fucking course, and they have so many chumps conducting it it makes me sick. There's like 5 guys in all of canada that should actually be conducting that course.

I hate watchin my hard work get pissed away by CSIA fags.
 
yup theres a lot of fags in CSIA but i reely wanna get my level 4 eventually and be the head guy so i can change all that shit... CSIA would be ruled by newschoolers.com and all would prevail. ps. the course is fuckin EASY! haha dont even worry about it.
 
He's talking about the park and pipe course....not the level 1 CSIA.

I forgot about that red suit you used to wear Doug...do you still have it or did you burn it?
 
i disagree. this year the program has changed a bit from other years (you only learn pivoting, edging, and stance and balance), however, on testing day we had to do 3 runs:

1)basic parallel which is just what you were saying, (no edges)

2)free run, this is where you are supposed to use you edges, make short and long radius turns

3)snowplow run, which is actually what most people have trouble with, im not sure why.

how ever i was told the same thing as i quoted abouve. for number 2, i sucked. i thought oh man im going to fail, cause i couldnt turn edge for shit.

long story short this was all yesterday, i passed, but they told me i wouldnt recomend any test in twins.

so do it if you want, i woundnt reccomend it
