So for anyone that preordered CS:GO (only $15), you got into the beta. Anyone on here playing?

The game cots $15 and comes out the 21st, buying it now lets you into the beta till it is released. CS:GO is counter strike global offensive

Seeing as CS is the only game I am competent at on PC besides Diablo... I agree on some level. But I don't have a PC anymore, so any CS is better than only playing at a buddies house.

And I see where you could be coming from. But come on... Xbox isn't that bad. Plus, I am also glad to have matchmaking (hate hacked servers and surf more than I hate Lil Wayne).

I've been contemplating whether or not to get it, I used to play source every day in high school. However now I don't have a gaming pc anymore, does anybody think it will be worth buying for 360?

That's what I figured, I guess I'll see how the reviews are. I wish the next gen of consoles would come out so I could decide whether or not I would rather build a gaming rig.

I actually prefer playing shooters on XBOX. Everything is slower and less precise, but it is that way for everyone. On the PC some people are so insanely good it takes all the fun out of it.

noob, every player and their sister could no scope with the scout. More on the matter, this brings me back to the good days of scoutzknivez.

This game needs major updating, specifically regarding recoil. Ima go back to starcraft until things get sorted out.

steam has been out for mac for like 2 years now, and CS:GO is also for mac, thats what im playing it on

and to the person saying PC shooters aren't fun because people are to good, you just need to practice more. Keep in mind that people have been playing counter strike for like 14 years, so obviously there will be some really really good people. It's taken me like 4 years to get "decent" at it

mother of god i'm going to get addicted to this game. played cs 1.6 about 6 years ago and still have dreams of knifing people

See, if I hadn't started playing CS since the beginning, I wouldn't even attempt playing. If a game isn't fun/enjoyable for me right off the bat, I am going to play something that is. And when you are constantly dying, it isn't much fun. Console gaming is just more chill usually. And all the hardcore pc players can hate all they want, but I just think Consoles have better games. Other than Valve games, Diablo, Starcraft, and Shredsauce (yes it counts)... there isn't all that much variety.

Quote for emphasize, nothing can beat the feeling you get when you kill somebody with a He or with a knife. CS 1.6 ftw.

If you have to "practice" a video game just to play against other people than that's fuckin stupid. I used to play CS a lot a few years ago, so I know what the other guy was talkin about. There are some people who just don't stop playing the game, so yeah it kind of takes away some fun from it.

Consol FPS suck (case in point: all cod's past #4), the platform is just to limiting. With most consol games, there is a skill cap that you reach very quickly, while with the popular PC games you can keep getting better and better.

I was reading something a pro CS player was saying once, that in consol games like COD, your character gets better as he "levels up" with new weapons/shit that adds an unfair advantage over new players, while with a game like cs YOU get better as a player over that time without hitting a skill cap, and everyone starts out with the same shit from the get go, which makes for a far mor level playing field

When I started playing CS, i died constantly, but the few times I would get a kill I would be so stoked and just keep playing to get that next kill. I find the challenge fun and rewarding, unlike console games

i'm playing the beta right now, not too bad I still like 1.6 the best. anyone got a steam ID and want to play?

Been playing GO since mid June as one of the 1.3's beta testers back in 2000 is on our team. The GUI is still too big imo. Movements are fairly similar to 1.6 since I've been playing that since '04. Overall fairly decent new improvements trying to merge the hl engines again. We'll see how this next season goes as more updates roll out for GO.

You could argue that players who've been playing CS from the start of a match have the advantage over players who join halfway through because of the higher potential to earn more money. Although, you may have just been referring to long-term advantages, to which my point would be irrelevant.

And kunfungsomething: use the ranking system as an advantage; finding out you're in the top 10 for a certain server is rewarding--except when you have that one off day and witness yourself drop from #5 to #100 lol.

Most console FPS games do suck. Especially CoD. I only play Halo. Which has just as level of a playing field as CS (minus the sword and rocket launcher, shits gay). And doesn't really have a skill cap. But the point I was making, is that I think consoles offer more things than PC. On PC, if you venture beyond FPS/RTS/RPG games, you usually only find crap. But on consoles, you get games like Skate, Trials, God of War, Fez, etc. Which is why I enjoy them more. Its more chill, and varied.

Next gaming console is years away. They trying to extend the cycle with Kinect and the Move. The Wii-U is going to be the new Sega. Incomplete and between generations.

If you are a big gamer, build a PC. Devs are giving PC more and more attention. You are seeing the PC community growing, and there voice is being heard.

Every one of those games you just listed are vastly superior on PC as that is what they were designed for

I'll give out ONE free beta key too the first guy who pm's me his steam ID, i'm 100% serious right now.
