theres reall no argument in this thread, the sox just swept to win the world series twice in 4 years, thats pretty legit, no need to go on about the pats, and bc is not overated, they went down to va tech on a thursday night, and played in one of the loudest, hardest to play in stadiums in the whole country, against a community where their football team means so much to them after what went down last April, and they won a a ridiculous comback, with their heisman probable Matt Ryan, if he keeps it up, under center. These next few weeks will be intersting when the play FSU Miami and Clemson Im not a huge basketball fan, but i would imagen the Celts will be somewhat better than they were these past few years
 
And the NFL, NBA, MLB, & NHL punish every team for everything they do? Belichick got caught because Mangini is a little bitch and ratted on an old coworker. Wow, that shit NEVER happens. Especially when one is doing so much better than the other with his career and team. No one else has gotten in trouble for their d-line yelling out plays prior to the offensive snap either, besides the Jets, the week after Belichick got caught. What a hell of a coincidence.
 
Again:

1) That doesn't make it okay.

2) If any team has reason to believe that they may have been done wrong, they are free to file a complaint to the league office. After that, it is completely up to the league to decide if there is sufficient evidence to act upon it.

The Patriots are not victims here. Don't even try to act like they are.

Seriously. I've got nothing. I'm not going to keep repeating valid points. Are you the only football fan that doesn't realize New England is not the only cheaters in the league?

It's the same with A-Rod and his yelling "I got it" in Toronto earlier in the season. Toronto's third baseman got thrown off by something that starts when you play in little league. He felt like an ass so he made a big deal about A-Rod doing it because A-Rod is known as being a jerk, selfish player, and not many people want to play with him. Should he have made it into such a big deal? Probably not. I do not like A-Rod at all, but that happens all the time in baseball. Everyone does it. It's like a code of player and coaches not to be a bitch and to just deal with it. Take it out on the field by beating the other team not whining. Football players cheat on a weekly basis when they get in a pig pile for the ball and the guy that probably had it and was down gets it taken from him before the refs can get to the current person with the ball.
 
You really cannot use the argument "every team in the league cheats". Even if they did, doesn't it say something that the patriots were so obvious about it that they were caught? And until you have proff that "every team cheats", there is no substance to your argument. The patriots do play great football, but they are still classless cheaters. I'm with Quinny one hundred percent.
 
Are New England the only cheaters? Of course not, it's stupid to even suggest that. However, they were caught red-handed doing something that the league deemed extremely unacceptable. If the NFL would go to such great lengths to punish one team, you don't think they would do it again and investigate other teams if they suspected something? Of course they would.

And no, its not the same as the A-Rod incident at all. There is no rule in baseball that constitutes you can't yell when someone is trying to catch a ball. Cheating and playing dirty are both unsportsmanlike, but they are hardly the same thing.

as quinny said previously, championship winners are not a good indicator of the overall status of a league/conference. there is always that east/west rivalry in college hockey, usually based around boston and minnesota/michigan, however, there are way more D1 hockey teams in the northeast than in any other part of the country, look at Hockey East, that division is STACKED with Umass, BC, BU Maine, Providence and UNH all are extremely competitive teams, and usually end up ranked

Because no other team has been caught violating the rules like that. Plain and simple. Unless you can prove otherwise, sit down and shut up.

Yes I am. Cheating is unsportsmanlike behavior and I do not condone cheating in sports, whether it be players violating drug policies or teams stealing play calls.

Because I'm supporting my argument you asshat. If you actually had any reading comprehension, you would see I already stated my opinion in a single sentence in my first post. People questioned my opinion and I further elaborated in later posts (that "bull shit" as you call it). Thus far you have seemed to have brought little to this discussion, so I'm inclined to tell you to "just shut the hell up."

I can't find the link but a few years ago one of the MLB teams got caught watching a tv in their dugout which was sending a signal of the opposing catcher. They had a member of the staff filming the signals. So technology was/is being used in other sports.

 
you just proved why they're classless, they beat a team 52-0. at least put in some second string give them a try in a real game. i can't remember if it was this game or not, but all they had to do was take a knee and game over they went down the field and scored. classless, fuck bellichick or however you spell his fucking name. as well as faggot ass tom brady. all i have to say is the steelers will give them a run for their money.
 
you just mentioned in a previous post that you knew that new england isn't the only team that cheats. what i dont understand is why you are asking for proof of something you already know is true. then you went off topic of your only point when you stated the statistics of the east and west. and the only other thing that i was saying was that you repeated your supporting facts many times.

I think that people are missing the point of this thread, it isn't about if you like the Patriots or not, or if you think they are classless or not, it is about the Patriots being the best team in the NFL, which they are. nuff said.
 
And, unfortunately, I don't think the leagues deal out enough punishment for such violations. I wasn't going to bring this up (out of good taste, or class if you will), but I quite frankly think the Pats got off light. Obviously the knowledge is that if you can get away with something that can help you win, you'll do it. If the punishment for breaking the rule does not serve as an adequate deterrent, people will keep doing it. If the NFL did something like, say, overturn a game, there is a good reason the cheating would stop because committing the act would have a direct correlation to losing.
 
People cheat, look at drug tests for example. I said New England cheated because they taped signals, the response from the NE faithful was "everyone does it." Then I asked for proof that other teams taped signals. Thus far no one has shown me anything. So no, not everyone tapes signals. Is that really such an abstract concept to understand? Now I'm sure you have better things to do than grasp at straws to make me "shut the hell up."
 
Well there you go. The question is if the punishment was acceptable. If the punishment wasn't severe enough, people would keep doing it. If that would meant taking away the Broncos Super Bowl win, so be it. It's their own fault for breaking the rules.

ya, people cheat, players cheat. if a player on the jets takes steroids and gets caught, you dont call the jets cheaters, you call that individual a cheater. you implied that other TEAMS cheat. you never once mentioned drugs or taped signals in your statement, "are new england the only cheaters? of course not. its stupid to even suggest that."

i do agree with your statement that the patriots should have gotten a harsher punishment though, as much as i would like to see them go undefeated. but come on "out of class if you will". you called me an asshat. very classy.
 
hmm...i still count 8 nationally ranked WCHA teams in the top 20.  thats 80 perecent of the division.
 
Im not saying that people want to move to Massachusetts i m just saying that Massachusetts sports such as baseball and football have owned Colorado's nuff said.

The bruins aren't going to be good this year, well lets just say, No one follows hockey in boston with the patriots and the red sox and now the celtics. this year the celtics are going to win the ship, and if they dont, they blow at life. Go Celtics, first game tonight.
