Crystal

i love riding there and im sure some chill people work there but from what ive seen their ski patrol is consistently overzealous and for the most part just full of it. they should strike for a raise or something instead of taking it out on kids just trying to have a good time. i couldnt tell you how many times ive been stopped for very unobjectionable reasons to be talked to by some petulant excuse for an employee who admonishes me like im the only one who has ever violated one of their hallowed decrees. i have been fortunate enough to get away with no more than a scolding multiple times, but i have friends who have had passes pulled for retrieving skis under ropes on foot. i have even skied into a trap at the bottom of a sidestash where patrol had erected a boundary on the up hill side of a cat track as one would do if they intended to trap their own customers in their ropes of deceit. i dont know what the deal is but their customer service needs to change.

Wow... It's ridiculous that they wouldn't give a customer a break with a valid reason like that. I've never had problems with ski patrol there, but I know people that have as well. Overall it's a great place to ski and I go there whenever the snow levels are too high at snoqualmie.

Yeah, its kind of a fine line between oh I'm really sorry guys I didn't know/I won't do it again and "I didn't duck a rope line so suck my cock" ... but personally I haven't had a problem with patrol at crystal in like 10 years so who knows.

As a new pro patroller at Crystal I can tell you that the majority of people on patrol are really chill. Some people obviously are going to be a bit more strict than others but thats bound to happen anywhere. You also have to realize that on weekends/holidays we have a lot of volunteer patrollers who work only every 3 weeks so not everybody is on the same page. When it comes to the pro patrollers I can vouch that most of us are the exact same kind of person as you and we don't want to take anyones pass or ruin their day. We are here to ski as much as possible and have fun. There is the other side to it though. There are plenty of stupid people that we catch cutting ropes, especially in areas that we are doing avy control. This is really the main thing that pisses people off because its our career at stake if you get blown up or buried in a slide that we caused. As long as people aren't rude most patrollers are really chill.

On that note I'll share a great story from Friday. We brought in a heli to do a drop a lot of very large explosives on some runs. In Employee Housing some guy ducked the rope, passed a patroller who was guarding the area yelling at him to stop, and then skied directly over a massive live charge that was dropped out of the helicopter. It blew up a little bit after he passed it and luckily the slide didn't get him.

Today was pretty good. Pretty skied out but there was still some good stuff to be found.

On a side note, who was the kid riding in a cotton hoodie with a lion tall tee over it, lapping the park all day when there is somewhat decent powder? You are fuckin retarded and looked dunb as shit

Soo uh idk about anyone else but I have yet to have a less then stellar day at Crystal this season. Been getting fucking nuked and have had a few of the best days I've ever had already this season.

Shredded today, got of work at 10 and took slushy park laps all day. Super fun! The last couple weeks have been epic. Couple of the best pow days of the season nd some super fun slush days.

i was up last saturday (so the 23rd) and it was an epic pow day. saw someone in a green and purple dripcheck when i was walking out of the lodge, and some for sure NSers wearing big saga stuff in lift lines. just never got the opportunity to say hi. i was in the black/grey saga and blue pants if you saw me

I'm up here all week. If you see a kid in a green Causwell jacket just throw a snowball or something

Sunday was one of the best days of the season for me

Anybody know if high campbell and northway will be open tomorrow? I heard it's supposed to be pretty windy.

Mario said they wouldn't pay him to run the cat anymore this season, they thought the snow was gonna be melting out by now. They aren't moving any features up to Green Valley either, the whole crew is already moved back to town.
