Crystal, nubs, boyne

well i just got back from a week of skiing boyne mountain and nubs.

both are in the worst shape i have ever seen them. I mean there is more snow when i go up for spring board in mid april. However, Nubs is okay if you like rails. They have 12 different rails and boxes set up. s-boxes, c-boxes, staight rails, flat-down rails, all sorts of shit. Pretty good shape on wednesday, when i was there. Also Nubs has that step down jump that they had all last year at the top of their park. It was okay, except that it was a lot smaller then normal and the landing was ice. Also lower down was a small table, which they called medium, but its small. Once again, ok, but icey and was in pretty shitty shape at the end of the day. Boyne Mountain had three jibs up. Two straight boxes and a straight rail. So pretty horrible, but thats my report from the area!

Can somebody give me an update on the nubs and boyne parks? I will be up there on Sat and Sunday, just trying to figure out which place to hit up. Looking for Medium sized hits and some fun rails, nothing to tech. Maybe even a decent pipe. Got a response about Boyne in the main forum, but I am curious how Nubs is shaping up.

Northwestern Michigan has been in real bad shape this year. They were only operating around 30% open for Christmas break and only until the last week and a half do they actually have real snow. Nubs has all the glades open now and their park isnt as good as last year but it is probably in the best condition of anything up there. Crystal has never really had a good park in my opinion. Last year their "Rail Yard" was about 4 rails and 2 boxes and they were all really low and short. Highlands usually has the best park of all up there but currently I'd hit up Nubs. Plus Nubs pipe is going to be open this weekend too.

Well, Boyne's park wasn't bad.....Highlands had two rails, a decent pipe, and 2 or 3 decent hits. It was good. Then we went to Nub's the next day. Yeah, Nub's kills it compared to Boyne. Well groomed jump line, nice little rail yard, and a killer pipe. Not to mention the rest of the place was set up great as well. Next time I head north I will be back at Nub's. Uh, plus the name is great too....
