Crystal Mountain 2011-2012

Really? Even the stickers on the helmet look exactly like mine. Plus the jacket size looks identical, and I can see the black pocket on the leg which looks like my ivory pants. Whatever though

Today started off being a nice bluebird day. The snow wasn't that great. There was some powder but it was covering a layer of crust. Eventually it started snowing hard and got so windy that only chinook and forest queen were open. Fun day though

Light stuff/crust was a lot better than the snow yesterday imo. Snow was decent in the am for sure, especially up top. Glad it got cold last night

Who let this mutt off his leash?~

kylbakken --> Scott29~

I don't know you, but I pity the fact that you have

nothing better to do with your life than spread hate on the internet.

Especially when it's within the ski industry as I have witnessed. It is

pathetic, although perhaps not as pathetic as me using my time to type

this pm.

You give yourself a bad name, you give your mountain a bad name, and in

most cases your demeanor creates a negative atmosphere which permeates

this entire regional forum. But karma tends to work itself out in the

end.

Regardless of your trolling get well soon, shoulder dislocations suck. Once you pop the fun don't stop.

I do believe you like stereotypes so have a FABULOUS evening asshat.

I better watch out, he might use the powers of karma to send me bad vibes through the negative atmosphere I create. That sounds pretty terrible~

Karma wizard here,

I stand by everything I said in that pm.

You were the one who said, "Shoulder dislocated, cant go skiing, so I get to spend some time telling cunts like you to fuck off." in the freeride thread. To me that seems very immature hence why I "pity the fact that you have nothing to do with your life."

I am being entirely sincere when I said that I hope you get well soon. I spent the end of the past 2 seasons injured and it really blows. Once you pop the fun don't stop refers to the fact that once you dislocate once, it dislocates again easier and easier until you finally have to get the surgery. Then you're out for a few months to a year so yes it fucking blows.

If anything Scott, I hope that you appreciate that despite the fact that you insist on trolling every thread and person associated with Crystal, I still have the common decency to wish you speedy recovery.

Vibes, get well soon, hopefully you get back on slopes soon....

You can tell sensitivity is in vogue with messages like that. Chin up, it's the internet. Scott~ =/= Scott in person.... for the most part.

Yea I should have phrased it differently, it seems now a lot more like adding insult to injury than I had originally intended. It's just annoying to see someone get injured, then use that injury as an excuse to troll additionally in a thread which is obviously of no concern to them. It needlessly discourages participation within the community, which bothers me since this developing freeride community has been making Crystal a lot more fun to ski at in the past few years. (free-riders are a lot more fun to ski with than racers, personal preference) And yes I agree this is the internet, but this isn't 4chan. That being said I would never wish harm upon anyone on this site, if that is the way Scott perceived that pm I sincerely apologize.

but he was banned how many times before he got hurt? I'm just saying this is not a new phenomenon spurred on by injury, and I got a great laugh out of that crystal freeride thread.

Oh I know he's been proven unbanable, hasn't been banned in at least a year right? I for one enjoyed the very slight break in trolling when preseason skiing started. Every post in that freeride thread however was post injury.

It's simply that the freeride program is one of the main forces creating positive change at Crystal. The more Crystal sees that their market is changing as such the better it will be for this whole demographic of younger skiers, since that is the manner in which the ownership chooses to operate. Many kids interested in the program have accounts on NS so those comments do, to an extent, have an effect on the general attitudes towards the program. Criticism is appreciated, slander isn't.

I know I sound like a tool in many of my responses to trolling but Crystal is my home mountain. It is cheaper here than anywhere else for me while I pay back student loans, so might as well do anything possible to improve the local environment which this regional community seems to so thoroughly dislike (not that I blame them).

this weekend was decent at best. they really need more snow or the park crew should actually work for once and put out some features. hopefully next weekend is better

i completely agree with him. its always been annoying and I think its time to chill out with so much hate. This is regionals we should have more respect for each other. And like I have said before, its not worth your breath to complain about crystal

I do hate you though. In fact, if I had to choose the life of a robin or your life, id choose the robin in a heartbeat. Then id kill the robin because I dont actually give a shit about them either~

You're just a piece of shit. Like honestly. You think you're so god damn fucking awesome because you're some rich college student piece of shit that gets to ski wherever he wants and you have zero respect for anyone else. I only ski at Crystal because my parents aren't rich assholes and don't pay for any of my shit and I can't afford to ride anywhere else so I got a job at Crystal, so I'm going to defend it as much as I can. I know this is the internet and and it doesn't mean shit, but I hope one day I will see you and recognize you at Crystal so I can knock you out and drop you upside down in a tree well so it looks like NARSID and nobody will find you till the summer.

I feel like I'm going to get banned for making death threats, but it was worth it.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief not every person there is a rich snobby asshole, although I admit that most are.

Thanks for ignoring the rest of my post because you know I'm right.

I'll be waiting for you with a club to drop you in a deep fucking well.

That is all for tonight.

Sorry I couldnt get past the first line without busting up in laughter. Yeah crystal is where all the broke homies at~

biggest contradiction ever, also people at crystal are bitches. some are chill, yes, but the majority of people could die and i wouldnt really care. Scott#~ has the swag, so step off.

pretty bad. just not enough features, unless you want to hike. last weekend it was a up-flat box, down barrel, flat barrel, dance floor, c-box, flat box, and one random rail that was on a flat and didnt have a lip. if you hike it it could still be fun for a bit.

a better option would be to build a jump. two good spots are to the right of the park in the trees (good spot for a small table with a solid inrun) or over on the far side of the lake to the right of queens, not too far into southback (dont need to ski southback to get it, just cut into the trees and go deep.) its a good step down but there is no real form to build on

speaking of which, who was hiking the dance pad and flat box last weekend? the two guys i offered the go pro boom too? also id be down help build a jump anywhere

goin up tomorrow with a few friends. so pumped! ill be in last years benchetler jacket so give me a shoutout if you see me

The spot to the right of the park is fucking stupid, sorry but it's visible from the chair and ski patrol takes it down every time someone tries. But if ya'll really wanna get down come out to south and build off one of the wind lips. but the far side of Lake E is decent too we had a solid session out there a few weeks ago.

Oh and today was savage.

the only problem is off one of the windlips takes a long time to build and it is a massive hike to hit it each time.

if youre gonna go that far may as well go to below three way peak where there is a jump already built some of the time

well, pretty solid day. good snow in the morning, but really windy. rainier and green valley were blowing hard, and possibly closed for a while due to wind (it looked closed when i was leaving at 2)

thursday will be the day to go

tomorrow will be decent. probably pretty crowded because the road has been closed for a few days but there should be enough new snow

Craystal is so fucking awesome these days. Fucking unreal terrain, snow and vibe. If you live south of Shoreline and don't ski crystal you are a fuking moron. That northway lift is the ritz too. So much awesome vertical to be had! 7000 ft what? And the scean is going off, everyone just shreds and giver, and ya. Go to Crystal! Alpental is too damn low, and Stevens sucks dick wad through a Starbucks straw.

'Twas stupid deep with everything getting blown back in by the wind. And they're saying it snowed like 7 inches open to close yesterday too. And the wind scared a bunch of people off, yayyy

So my dad wrote this piece of literary brilliance for the Left Angle trees. May they rest in peace.

A Dirge for Left Angle Trees

Long ago it seems, in a time of narrow long skis,

There was place, high on a mountainside.

It was a serene place, where winds did not cut

Where snow lay deep and soft ‘twixt the trees

There lay slim glades where one could pass,

Long narrow slices of snowy bliss

amid the branches, heavy with snow.

For long years this place stood,

Welcoming winter visitors

into its steep powdery havens.

“Come,” whispered the trees

“We are the guardians,

In here, the wind will not pack the snow,

the sun will not crust it.”

In hushed and reverent tones

mere humans spoke of Left Angle Trees.

Then one summer came the Woodsman.

“I will make this place better,” he declared.

“I will cut many trees and soon all

Will be able to enjoy this snowy feast!”

And so he cut many trees, and stripped many branches.

By summer’s end, the steep forest was riven

with paths, glades and clearings.

“HURRAH!” shouted many voices,

“We shall all be able to ride, ski and play

in this new and exciting place.”

“OH NO!” cried the voices of a few.

“What have you done!? It is too steep,

It is too long. The trees are all needed!”

“NONSENSE!” bellowed the Woodsman,

“Look at what I have created;

it is much better this way.”

And so they came; the masses of steel and p-tex

crushing the cut branches and trunks into the mountain,

widening the glades and stretching the open places.

For years the mountain rested, the raw gashes

in her beautiful living green garments a testament

to the Woodsman.

Then one spring, from the ridge above the trees

a slough of snow began,

gathering weight and power

as it hissed toward Left Angle Trees.

“PREPARE!” shouted the trees to each other.

“We have stood for hundreds of years, we will prevail!”

“Link your boughs; gather together; for the onslaught is coming!”

But the boughs could not link; the trunks could not form their Phalanx.

They were now too few, they were now too scattered.

One by one, and in small clusters, fell the trees

The gathering infernal of snow overcoming all that stood in its path.

Giants of centuries, proud survivors of the mountain harshness,

fell at last, fighting alone against the crushing battery of snow.

The slopes of Armegaddon lay at last silent,

Stripped of every living tree

All hurled into a mass grave, broken, torn and dying.

“I HAVE WON!” shouted the Woodsman,

“Not a tree remains to frighten the timid!

All is clear and bare and beautiful.”

“WE HAVE WON!” clamored the masses,

“We have a new slope, clear and bare

and beautiful! Let us make moguls.”

“NO!” howled the wind,

“I Have Won!”

“I will scour away your soft snow,

I will pack your powder into ice.”

“NO!” rumbled the mountain,

“I Have Won!”

“I will send snow ripping down your bare open slopes,

trees will not grow here again.

My rocks and earth and ice will remain.”

“We Have Lost.” Cried the Left Angle Trees,

exhaling their last breaths from the shards and trunks

crushed together in their final resting place.

“We could not stand”

“We were too scattered”

“We were too few”

“We were too few.”

Since kircher became boss and gave them law to take anyones pass who dresses like a thug, or wears baggy shit, or can actually ski. oh and if your skis leave the ground its a for sure loss of your pass for a minimum of a week. that coming from a kid who's skied crystal since he could walk. its pretty dumb they wont convert to the new school of skiing.
