Crystal jib park (summer)

so is crystal going to put a little more effort into their jibs this spring/summer? whats the current status of their park. last i saw, they had 4 jibs set up.

I regret standing up for Crystal in the past. No the park will not be good. Yes they will have an airbag. Yes if you like airbags you are a pussy. Get real jumps jk.

 
its really sad what is happening to the state of washington and the resorts. i remember about 4 or 5 years ago when summit central was open until cinco de mayo and alpental was open until memorial day. with everything owned by one company there is no allegiance to the pass holders, and no competition between the resorts. If crystal would put an ounce of effort into their park, washington skiers wouldn't have to drive all the way to t-line in the summer.

crystal has 40 jibs available, if they aren't going to use them.. maybe they should put them somewhere else.
 
Having an airbag without jumps is like putting a jet engine on a plane without wings. It feels really cool until you realize you aren't actually doing anything.
 
It's pretty bad right now. Setup is a down barrel and down box (can only hit one) to flat down, to down, to tiny sketchy pyramid cannon thing (can be used as a tap though)
 
well they have 4 features up now so it wouldnt be that hard to beat... plus i think they left some of the features over on that flat under the chair after last year
 
i was up there yesterday and i dont think it was really worth my 50$ dollars but im not complaining cause its the only resort in washington open and its still skiing but if youre going there expecting a really nice jib park like last year it is about 1/4 the size... there is a flatish down box thats about 7 or 8 feet and a down pipe right next to it about the same length and the flat down is about 8 feet long maybe..
 
i mean.. skiing is pretty fun any way you go about it and to have lift access until june/july... quit bein a lil bitch mob some slush and hike a few rails at least theres someting
 
i know, i know... trust me. if anyone appreciates slushy spring skiing its me. but it's hard to sit back and watch missed opportunities, especially when a resort has already invested money into something.

I might be heading up to crystal this weekend and im just wondering if anyone has been up recently and seen the park
 
They are claiming as long as conditions permit... Either they will close or they will stay open a long time like they did last year. With them you never know
 
The park cat is broke down so they can't tow any features. Saturday was still a blast though in the slush, but if you are counting on a solid jib park to have fun this summer up there you will be dissapointed. Last I heard they were tryin to borrow a different cat but were having difficulties getting it for some reason. Also, who was up on saturday with a blue Jiberish vest??
 
The park at Xtal gets shafted because they get no money for cat time or staffing. Hardly surprising that JP left, but it's such a bummer after what they made happen two years ago.
 
JP and Petey both got jobs at Snoq park crew and I would imagine they are a lot happier there.. But Russ has big plans this spring apparently. Some Stuff he was describing sundaysoinded badass but I doubt He wil actually make it happen..
 
You can dream all you want until they tell you there's no money to run the cat.
Always sad to see Excel spreadsheets running the terrain park, but that's the dirty underbelly of it.
 
Yeah like I said I sou t he will make it happen but K am crossing my fingers.

And Shmad, dope!! I was right in front of you in the lift line on green valley a few times. Holler if you see me up there. Black helmet with stickers and a gray flannel. Mobbin with a couple other snowboarders.
 
Yeah I was riding with the park crew while they hitched about not getting paid and not wanting to set anything up so I am doubting a park is even going to happen..
 
I saw something involving the words moseley and mogul training with some sort of caption like "crystal has ok'd jumps". I would have laughed but my brain got stuck. North I go.
 
I was sort of making fun of BasedRiley because that's how he likes to talk in honor of the Based God...

But it basically means Crystal blows and won't have a park setup this spring.
 
Saturday they had a pole jam, flat down rail, pretty smooth down rail, and a qp with a flat bar on top that you couldn't really get speed for.

I'll be up there tomorrow with finn. Look for someone wearing black and blue blue bloom and someone in a brick red armada range jacket. Say hi if you see us! Hopefully they'll have the airbag jump up...
