Crystal is making a park

I don't know when, but one of my friends was talking with Mr. Kircher or whatever his name is that owns the mountain, and he hired a guy to design a park for chair 4.
 
the last time i went to crystal was like 5 years ago and they said they were building a park the following year.
 
different owner, different year...

they build a pipe which was crap. That was their "park" but they actually have a good designer I hear that will make at least an OK park. I didn't hear a date specified, it's probably not going to be built next year.
 
I talked to John Kircher today. They are indeed building a park but there's no deadline. I always hoped my constant email harassment would pay off.

i'm thinkin about going to evergreen state college.

does anyone know how long the drive is from the college, or Olympia?
 
Oh, and if they plan on maintaining their park as well as their pipe, its gonna be one helluva place..........................
 
And a 3rd thing, Kircher got some of those libtech skinny ass snowboards last season, now he wants a park... HAH! the irony

oh and boyne's owned crystal since 97... owners havn't changed, I don't think management has either.
 
I grew up there and it use to be my local mountain. That park is going to suck dick I gurantee it! Its going to be hella small with weak ass features. Is Crystal owned by one guy or a bord of directors?
 
Thats what I was thinking. If they have so littlem ambition to make a park(a pretty solid supposition), then they really shouldn't do it. It's pretty much better to have no park at all than to waste time trying to make something that is worthless. And bringing in a "designer" doesn't mean shit. I swear many designers dont know jack about terrain parks.
 
I'm pretty sure they've gotten a ton of emails about it, so they have plenty of support on this project.

Once the master plan is complete I pray that they will work their butts off on the park and make it really nice, they have no reason not to.

crystal's been lacking in snow for the past week. It would have been nice to have a good park to hit. I also want to have some nice jumps that ski patrol WONT blow up that are easy to get to.
 
Or since I don't have the money for a car and nobody in my family is willing to pay for the full price of a ticket there when we already get 15% off the seasons passes at crystal.

we also have a room in a community lodge which we go to every weekend. We're also the house managers of our ski club community lodge so we have to go up there.

Crystal also has much better BC than snoqualmie, and it costs less to hit up both BC and park in the same run than to pay a $45 day ticket or however much it costs.

PLUS we have to take all of the ski gear and clothes out of the room and bring it all to snoqualmie for a day or two.

One day at snoqualmie probably costs more than three days at crystal for us since the lift tickets at crystal cost $55 or $50 I think now. The seasons passes are as much as about 20 days of skiing, and we ski at least 50 days each year.

In addition, I'd have to pay for the snoqualmie pass. I get to pay for my ski gear and my clothes and everything else I own related to skiing except for the season pass to xtal and the room.

So if a park was built up there, I'd love it.
 
The park they use to have above quicksilver sucked ass. Crystal is one of my favorite places to ski, but honestly a park has no place there let alone there weak ass half pipe they attempt to build that no one even knows how to ride. I could only imagine all the gapers that will be in that park hahaahhah.

Explain where they would put it please because I would like to know. Where they had it in the passed was way to flat. The biggest jump I see them ever making would be 35 feet with no pop.
 
I'm really starting to question the guy's intelligence and business savy. Even the locals have been in mass exodus from Crystal the last few years. The mountain has really gone downhill. Maybe he's just on a power trip or something, but it would make sense to listen to his guests from time to time.

Dude you don't even know about me at all. I just gave you many reasons why I can't go to snoqualmie and you think I'm a rich ass bastard. Most everyone on this site is, and at least I work for all my money and ski equipment. I have a job. I work my ass off just to be able to live with my parents so that they don't ship me off to military school.

fort collins is #1. hahahaha. but bainbridge has only gained wealth in the last 10 years or so due to the heavy increase of Californians migating north, almost doubling in size, making a complete change from what it was before. and as far as land values places closer to the city cost more. that's just basic economics.

so if crystal attempted a park, it'll be shit. far too many places that advertise good parks slack like none, so on top of that, take into consideration there is 1) a slimey owner 2) they dont want one all that much 3) most of their patrons dont really give a shit 4) crystal is weak

Royal do live at crystal or something, cause how do you get to ski 50 days a year if you dont own a place up there.
 
I don't OWN the cabin.

We have a room in a lodge which has about 50 people in it. It's like living in a dorm except you have adults in there, too and there's a kitchen in the downstairs living area for all to use.
