so i got to come and ride crystal on sunday for the first time in two years or so. the weather was atrocious, and the skiing extremely marginal... but i still had a damn good time. i'm sure you three that david and i took runs with are on here, so cheers. but i was super stoked on the whole vibe going on up there... i got hassled by patrol for making GS turns on tinkerbell on the way down for the day... so obviously thats still the same... but watching people having fun, sessioning the jibs and whatnot, ripping lines, it was awesome. when i was growing up riding there, there just wasn't a scene. unless my head was totally up my ass, it seemed like there were gapers, and cmac, and yeah i raced and had fun but we were definitely little bastards. so props. if crystal's still got a bad rap, it definitely doesn't deserve it anymore.
 
For real. There definitely is a good freestyle scene emerging up there right now. I'm seeing more and more NSers there now
 
Seconded, got to ride a bunch over in late December. So many more fun features and kids killin it. Crystal will always have the old douche 'I own this mountain' mentality at heart, but it seems there's a lot more people just out to have a good time. The jib park crew is doing some great work by the way. Saw them out digging almost all day everyday I was there. That and Grevey's freeride program seem to really be keeping the stoke going. Now just bring back the adult comp.....
 
lots of crazy kinks and c-boxes. a few fatty tubes, 40 foot round bar, and an assortment of other plain old boxes and rails.
 
they could add some better features but their keeping the lips in good shape for the fact that hundreds of kids a day ski off the side
 
there lips might be ok but the park is on a terrible run, its super flat and hard to get speed between features or hit lots of rails in one run.
 
yeah your right. and also theres not alot of features either. thers a few scattered around but theres definately room to add more IMO
 
Only when I'm not on the mountain. I agree with you for the most part. Although there are still some epic douches the scene has chilled a lot.
