Maybe finally you dummies will shut up about how "shitcoin.io is like, totally the future bro! If you don't buy it you are an idiot. It literally has no downside!"

Lost $100k in two days earlier this week. It’s why i don’t hesitate to buy/mod nice cars, money comes and goes so much it seems so fake anyways so why not

Found the Luna holder lol

People talking about crypto reminds me of heavy gamblers. You here about how much they win. Never about when they loose. Everyone has their angle for the game. "You see I do it this way and that's how I win".

People have won fortunes gsmbling and crypto. Especially people gambling on the hype growing way early. Most people at best broke even or lost I bet. Or the wins are so small. They'll never tell you that though.

I actually did have a bunch of UST staked, but I knew the vulnerability so I kept a close eye on things and I didn’t hesitate to dump it all right before it crashed. Thank god it happened while i had time to pay attention, those things happen in your sleep…

It's insane to see some of the stories about people who invested their life's savings into a single prospect. Losing homes. This goes hand in hand with the "to the moon" wsb crowd; seen some insane stories especially when people buy on margin just for the hype. Apparently never heard the ol "don't put your eggs in one basket" saying.

HODLLLLLLLLLLLL ??

You have a point with gambling. It really does look like hardcore gamblers. I have not had a single person who has dabbled in crypto and told me they lost money. The reality is they are down 10K, pull out, then brag about how they made 5K.

What is even crazier is the canadian conservative hopeful, Pierre Poilieve, wants to turn the prairies into crypto mining center. Some weird reason, conservatives love crypto, but are clueless when it comes time to technology.

This week shows why I'll never be a day trader/crypto guy. I like sleeping at night. My 401k to moon baby!

I feel like people only started really hating crypto en masse once NFTs became a thing. Thankfully the fad has died down, to nobody's surprise. I don't have anything against crypto but I'm disappointed that people let that shit even catch on

Nah people have been annoyed buy it since the beginning of the huge hypre train. Def way more in recent years. Sometimes it's not worth arguing because every cryto nerd would come out of the woodwork to tell you how great it was.

I'd rather have people come to my house to tell me about jesus honestly.

imagine not slurping the -99.9% Luna dipperino already up 800%

I got $100 to blow.

Absolutely bonkers to read about this whole crash and WHY it happened. Also interesting how people had faith in a savings account called Anchor Protocol promising 20% returns. Jesus fucking christ anyone with common sense could know that's not sustainable. People are also acting like this crash wasn't self inflicted; it's like a stampede with everyone trying to get out but some get trampled.

People on the terraluna reddit are literally suicidal and the stories are insane. Like fuck me don't put all your money in one thing. This isn't a crypto problem, it's a larger economic problem with lack of diversity in portfolios. I've had losses of 99% but also had gains of 100%+ as well; you can't be hedging everything in one basket especially when unpredictable and often irrational human factors so largely influence price movements. Also greed is the downfall of all; man if I had a nickel for every time I held "just a bit longer" and ended up losing very nice gains only to be sitting with a loss.

Big oof to the markets right now

I’ve got 5 million shiba cost me like $55. If it ever goes anywhere I’ll make good money. If not I’m not butthurt I piss away $55 on a daily basis anyways.

Can't lose money if you havn't sold yet.

I made 400 and lost 450 but I'm such a small player I'm just keeping what I got in there in there and taking random 1hr trades like last month I made 5$ because I forgot how my account worked so I only leveraged 10$

I put $800 into 4,000 UST and 4,000,000 Luna. A day later it was worth $3,000 but didnt sell. Diamond hands from here im ready to lose it all. But maybe, just maybe, Moose and I are gonna have to throw a party in a few years with all kinds of gainz

HOW YOU FEELING THIS MORNING BABY

Someone I know keeps pushing NFT's and all kinds of crypto on me and talking about how easy it is to 10x your money. I just nod and say things like "interesting" and "hmm". I've told him I'm too busy with other things but he won't fucking take the hint.

We back into the green, made $30 on APE since I plan on going full ape this summer

Maybe you are, but it's still way down. Long way to come back. Sentiment appears to have improved though

I wonder if new fed regulation in the future will include wash sale rules as well as pattern day trading rules (not impacting ability to pay or swap for other coins).

that is true everything is on the way down but you can still pull a profit from short selling and reading the market, like last night i got $20 on XLM through tech analysis assuming the price would go up a couple percent.

Hope not, but probably. What do you mean pattern day trading rules swapping coins? They’re already taxed as capital gains/treated as a sale when you swap. Do you mean forcing you to use FIFO I believe? I forget if you have the same choices for tax calculations on equities as you do crypto.

Been trying to take profits on XLM but it’s locked up in staking terms. Honestly kinda glad about regulators getting us banned from staking in US. More reason to move to cold storage, more focus on trading which can earn more anyways, and less threat they have of controlling/seizing our assets on centralized exchanges. All probably to defend from the threat to banking

Google "pattern day trading". They could certainly apply this to trades (not swaps). Trade would be buying and selling on an exchange. This couldn't be used for the swaps or payments because it defeats the purpose. Day trading is a stock term and if you have hundreds of millions of people buying and selling the same asset in a single day multiple times, it increases the potential and amplitude for volatility.

The lack of wash sale rules also increases the volume because it discourages holding.

Fuck. I can handle price drops, always counted on it happening. But $50k on Celsius with withdrawals frozen :-( I’m optimistic I’ll see that money again, but already deleted it from my portfolio tracker as if it’s gone. Hope that’s the only exchange that gets off with my money

Let it be an expensive lesson, never keep your crypto on a CEX. Not your keys, not your crypto. This has been happening since Mt. Gox in 2014.

Maybe about 2/3 of value. So maybe $100. My position is small. I like to try to understand the functionality and abilities behind crypto. I’d say 99% is a scam but there’s a few good ones. I just bought some Avax for around $15. I anticipate a rebound eventually so I’m not sweating. Also, I can’t believe people go all in on one coin. Crypto and the market are more tied than people like to realize too..

I would say my money losses generally come from options contracts in the stock market..
