hey im goin to crusted butte at the end of january, cuz my bro goes to college out there. do any of you guys go to school out there or ski out there? i wanna meet up with some ppl to ski. message me if yeah wanna chill.

Suppossed to be a sweet place, but take note, It's CrEsted butte. I've noticed people tend to get a little angry when you make their resort sound like some kind of crusty mountain goat turd.

who's your bro? I'm going to college there next semester (this will be time number two going there) and Crested Butte is a def. sick mountain...there are so many good riders there, and the terrain rivals anything in North America (except for Alaska)

last year cb had more snow than most other colorado ski areas. Talking shit about something you know nothing about just makes me think you're dumb.

no western is in gunnison about a half hour from crested butte. Gunnison sucks.

I know first hand why people call it Wasted State, but still that town is a good town. Ever since Hugh Hefner called it Wasted State back in the 60s, it's become commonplace. It kicks Alamosa's butt royally. But yes, like i mentioned before...who is your bro?

You may have been above average last year but still average snowfall as listed on their site(and why would they lie?, if anything they would exaggerate to get more people skiing there)

Anyway CB's site says this

Average annual snowfall: 240 inches

Wow like I said, your mountain is sick but you dont get shit for snow. Come to utah if you want some real snow.

I think we got around 275-300 last season. Back in the early and mid 90's it snowed like 400 on average around here. It's weird here. Irwin Lodge is only like 8 miles from CB and it snows 500-600 inches year there.

Don’t start that Colorado vs Utah crap. Who gives a shit about snow depth id it covers the rocks. If you bring that up, then the Pacific Northwest has Utah nailed. Don’t use the better quality snow stuff either, I ski in Utah at least 3 times a year and their stiff is no better then the snow we get in Colorado.

First off no matter how much snow the butte gets you just have to nut up and hit it, becuase after all it is Colorado. And Phrosty I feel the tension in your voice having known myself the struggle of skiing in CB. I am always trying to get back that way, so anyone iterested in skiing with me out there should keep in touch, Late January I'm not sure, might have to wait for the big dumps in March. Late...

 
Well actually the people who decided to make a ski resort at CB were idiots when it came to location ONLY because Mt. CB lies in a rain shadow, meaning that the moisture get dumped everywhere else BUT in the shadow....hence why the Irwin Lodge gets around 515 inches a year. The most snow CB has ever received is 415 inches that happened in 1967. Where as Wolf Creek got a state record 840 inches in the 78-79 season.
