I kind of agree with you. People saying it's "gay" are kind of hypocritical. I almost want to say I don't want to see the girls in ads like that either; I mean if I want to see Kristi half naked there's FHM for that and overall, porn is REALLY not that hard to find, guys. So ski chicks can be sex symbols, but guys can't because the sport is dominated by men (or boys, as this thread and most threads seem to indicate). From a marketing standpoint the argument everyone's making makes sense... seeing my favourite skiers with no shirt doesn't really inspire me to buy from their sponsors, and I'd much rather look at CR slashing up a little pow... but let's let the girls have a bit of dignity too, so that that side of it can grow a bit. Maybe I WOULD enjoy it if it was one of the girls half-clothed, but that's not really the point... I mean, I don't know about the rest of you but if in 5 years I can be making my once-if-that daily run through the park and see some chick lay down a style line, and have that be normal, well, for me that makes the sport a lot better. Plus, that's way hotter than an ad in a magazine.
Encouraging the whole snowbunny gaper whore thing that so many girls who snowboard have going on is more than a little embarassing.
