Is it just me or are the terrain parks crowded as fuck, you can't even hit something without having a some kid ski in front of you...

 
hmm i feel your pain, but i guess its cause snowboarding and freesking is getting more popular, as well as the ski instructors taking their novice groups of 20 across the entire park

 
Not where I ride. But I can imagine it gets that way where there are shit tons of people.

i hate waiting but theres ways to avoid that...like ski during lunch time so that theres not so many people out

yeah theres always tons of little kids just snowplowin through the parks at my hill and they always stop at the top of the jumps and have to climb the rest of the way up and this is just the little kids the senior citizens are almost worse.

 
yeah, you just have to get aggresive and if that means snaking people, than do it! its actually funny when you look back and there is a pissed off snowboarder sittin on his ass

I try to get there early and ski a good morning session (if it isn't cold as balls) and when shit get starts to get crowded and skied off I will just try to set up some picknick table and kickers away from everyone else

 
yea the parks get crowded but its usually people that have no park etiquette that, snake and ruin lines. and i donno why you guys that bashed boards did because there are a shit load of shitty skiers too, and i know alot that would make you guys look stupid in the park

Blackcomb's park is usually pretty darn busy, and they have a park pass.

To drop in for the shack jump, it's usually 10-20 people that go before you do.

don't wait in line, call your drop about 10 feet before you get to the park. ski over people's shit, cut people off, run into people, do whatever. Most people dont belong at the mountain aways so fuck them. I really don't get why people sit at the top of the park in that group of ppl, its like there all affraid of anyone seeing them ski. what pisses me off the most is fucks who go like 2 miles per hour in the park, nothing like passing people in mid air while spinning. gaypers.

 
Trains are fantastic.

The more people the better.

Mixing snowboarders and skiers is also better.

Yeah, trains are nice until someone eats shit and gets their neck landed on by a ski. Crowded parks suck but it's always worth waiting if you're going to save you or someone else from getting hurt or killed. Yeah, it sucks, but waiting and hitting everything is better than rushing and getting snaked.

I dont know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
 
Weekends at Breck are getting outa hand for sure, especially last weekend cuz it was so nice out.

The park pass is where its at, I dont agree with a pass in smaller terrain parks for beginners but at blue mountain their Badlands park can only be accesed by one lift and they check to see if you have a park pass, this helps weed out the ones who go in the park just to ski the hill or the kids who have zero idea how to hit a large jump

fuckin tremblant man, i am sick of having snowboarders sitting right before the rails so it fucks up your entire line, unless you are filming on one rail then u should not be sitting on lines u should just be running through the park.

That's why you film lines on uncrowded days. Kind of dangerous to have someone who is holding the camera, not paying attention to where they're going skiing down.

Maybe bigger parks would help out?

tremblant is a big park. thing is all the tourists think that the park is where the cool kids hang out, so they go sit in front of a rail and try to look cool. its annoying. and none of them know how to take turns, or consider where other people may be coming from either.

the solution is what Blue has...a park pass and a private lift for the park. There's hardly ever any traffic cause all the losers don't go in there

Our mountain just put in a 'Beginner' Park, so that seems to help out a lot. But you still get the ass-hat instructors that bring their snow plowing 4 year olds in the park.

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.
 
asshat instructors is right. when they bring classes in the park and carve in and out and around jibs as if they're skiing flipping gates, my blood boils.

the worst incident ive seen was an instructor taking her kids repeatedly straight through fortunes pipe, on a busy day. she was teaching a beginners class of 5 year olds.

Im not 100% sure, but In Canada anyways I dont think instructors can bring their kinds into the park unless they are Park and Pipe certified. If this is true the next time they be doing that talk to the instructor and ask him, and if he dosnt have it go bitch hard core to whoever is in charge at the mountain.

 
i just hate how they go off the side of a kicker. that pisses me off the most. racers are just as bad, we dont go throught their gates when they practice so why do they come throught the park??

the place i ski it's honestly snowboards that can only do like 50-50s, but they fixed it this by making 3 parks, small, medium, large so it works
