What sort of documentation do I need to get into Canada then back into the US? And I don't have a passport.

you can do it with a picture driver's license, but i heard they were going to start making you have a passport

I just got back from Whistler last week. You need a valid ID and origanal birth cert too. It took like all of 30 seconds too.
