Cross country

i have never heard of them they sound legit tho i live in rochester and go to penfield we run against schools like HFL and rush henrietta

FM girls are beast, they are like men, im from pittsford mendon and ive been varsity for 3 years. i did terrible this year and didnt make it to states though

18:51 5k xcbut ive got a 2:13 800 as a sophmore and hopefully a 53 sec 400 this year. so i guess im pretty good at track, just suck dick at xc.

I was never that good at the regular races. There usually like 3.2 or whatever. I Used to run them in 18 min or a little over usually. Sometimes if it had a lot of hills or i was beat closer 20. Most of the kids detroyed it.

I was good at running though. Got up to doing 5-8 miles a day. should have done a marathon at that point. I could run over 10 at a steady pace. After 2 miles just get in the zone, get a good breath pattern rocking and just keep going.

Now im a lazy bitch, and I think running for fun is strange

Man I love XC, hardest thing in the world, you just have to be soo much mentally and physically strong...some people dont understand why I run about 100km per week, and run my ass off in middle distance, but finishing a great race is just the best thing ever! Last year I had a really bad injury and I wasn't able to compete since last summer... but here are some of my PRs: 15:45 5k, 1:57 800m and 4:01 1500m.../claim haha

I don't train or anything but i got second and cities, and 17th in provincials, im sure i could get top 10 if i ever trained though.

/claim

your just fucking stupid. you have no idea at all how hard it is to be good at that sport with the commitment and self motivation.

Yeah. Speed still helps a bunch in xc, but training and self motivation are key. Anything distance with hills your pretty much on your own pushing yourself. In anything longer than that speed isn't as big a factor as self motivation.

You just have to get in the zone and keep bombing it out as fast as you can. Refuse to quit. The difference between being able to run fast for 100 yards and run fast in xc. so much time and thinking. Your body just wants you to stop the whole time. I wasn't very fast sprinting. I just ran full speed the whole way in xc, only reason why i didn't completely blow, although just under 18 even with hills is in no way a good time.

haha this forum is kinda old but yea running kinda ends up ruining my ski season but its all good. anybody from section 2. i think i saw a kid on this thread from section 3? running against fayetville.

i run, im awful though.

i just do it cause its somethin to do, im not too bad at track, i ran a 2:15 800 last year which is decent

I was crazy about it in college, and i was good but it hurts so much. when you do well it hurts cuz your pushing it so hard, when your bad its cuz your lungs feel like they will explode. the runners high is sweet but skiing is so much more fun.
