Hello all! Long time no see.

I'm traveling from New York City to Seattle over the next month and I need ski area recommendations for my travels back.

What I'm looking for:

1. Located in USA

2. Family-run

3. (relatively) inexpensive

4. Tow rope and parks (midwest, west)

Ive never skiied the midwest so I dont have a base of info to work off of other than google maps and internet research, so i'd LOVE to hear from y'all!!!!!!!!

Thats a place i would love to check out! At the moment, the hope is to cruise through illinois and drop down to New mexico, southern CO, and Salt Lake. Not sure if i want to go north and then drop south.. but i'll def consider it! Any recommendations for the states under Wisc?

I'd imagine you'll want to stay north in Idaho and Montana since your trip ends in Seattle. I can't help you there. If you want a scenic detour to Cali, NV, I have some suggestions.

Halfway between SLC and Tahoe along I-80, there's a tiny gem called Elko Snobowl. It's $25/person, only open weekends if there's snow. One chairlift and no park.

In Tahoe, the cheapest mountain is Soda Springs (owned by POWDR).

For the cheapest family-owned, check out Donner Ski Ranch or Tahoe Donner.

Boreal has an excellent park and is priced very reasonably. Arguable second-best park in Tahoe behind Northstar. Only caveat is Boreal is owned by POWDR

There are a ton of great little resorts if you go north from Tahoe towards Seattle. Shasta Ski Park, Ashland, Warner Canyon, Willamette Pass, etc.

If your willing to make the detour run up through michigan hit pine knob, cannonsburg run through the U.P hit marquette mtn, Mt Ripley then cruise through minnesota toward Wyoming and Slc.

I did a cross country road trip last year with the ex-old lady, she was pretty novice and I'm not super into park but we tried to do it cheap and hit small places with good local vibes and decent big mountain skiing (when I could take solo laps) we hit Antelope Butte in WY, cant reccomend that place enough mad small but sick local vines and pretty good skiing when I was there. Dont think they have a park but some decent steeps, just a real ski mountain tiny but pretty sick. From there I think we hit bridger for 2 days, we skied together alot there so I didnt really get the feel of the whole place but its reputation speaks for its self, hit it up of you've never been. From there we hit Targee 3 days had 1 good powder day that was sick underrated terrain and decent park. We spent 4-5 days at Beaver mountain in UT got good snow and had a blast small for UT standards but $36 lift tickets couldn't justify spending 120 at the CWC places. She left from SLC to fly back to NY, I stayed out west for work. I hit brian head in UT bc I was heading south decent but didnt have great snow. Would pass and hit alta or bird next time and stay in SLC. In CA June is under rated and if you're going to Socal dont hit big bear, look into Mt Baldy. We traveled on the weekends and skied during the week. Missed crowds and got to ski cheaper. Have fun and be flexible we had an itinerary but swayed from it but making air b&b reservations ahead of time kept us on schedule and kept costs down. Have fun! Interested in where you guys hit

Pine Knob looks so dope!

Your going to have to add quite a bit of time to your trip to make a lot of these destinations work, as they are not on the direct route.

Idk much about states below Wisconsin but mt. bohemia in Michigan usually has some pretty good skiing if you like steeps
