Crochet Beanies

Hey, does anyone know how to crochet beanies. I've been trying but it won't work. If I try and start from the top, it gets all small and same thing if I try to start from the bottom. I need some help.

 
it comes with time, expereince and practice, my grand ma taught me how to knit as well, so my advice to you would be go find an old lady to help you out. but you have to start form the top, if you start from the bottom it turns out wrong.

 
ya you do a diffrent stitch on the top of the hat to make the circle, my advise is to just make headbands

You just make a starting chain to fit your head, then build UP from there. To decrease instead of going through just one stitch, do two.

yo i wouldnt start from the bottom.. but thats just me. i start out with a small donut of 4 stiches, the just do a dd, ds, dss,dsss,dssss,dsssss,dsssssss,dsssssss,dd,ds, etc. until i get the pancake the size of my palm, then i go ss the whole way down.

it works well.. and i use double yarn too. its sick
