I have a bosnian friend. He's really good at soccer, but not as good as the Italian freshman who was the best player on the enire team, but he quit.

Yep. I definately do not look like a Croat, but I used to play tonnes of soccer.

Croatia is spectacular, but there are still areas that you can get blown up which sucks. Landmines are stupid.

I WILL BE GOING THERE FOR WORK IN THE WINTER SEASON...

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT RESORTS ARE GOOD? HOW TO TO GET THERE FROM ZAGREB AND THE DISTANCE TO? AS WELL AS WHAT THE PARKS ARE LIKE?

My dad went last year with his croatian buddy. Apprantly they got followed by a very nicely dressed man asking them if they wanted to "buy some whores for the night"
 
we did the same thing.

started in Austria, train to split, VW bussed from spilt to dubrovnik.

then took a plane to Budapest, then hydrofoiled back to vienna.
 
they made a huge effort cleaning the place up, especially in cities like Dubrovnik.. it really doesn't show anymore except for the odd bullet mark in some stone walls. it's a really beautiful place now. although Zagreb might be a different story, i know they got it really bad in the war and i'm not sure if as much effort was put into that city to rebuild
