Critique Plz +K

So, for christmas I got a nikon d7100 with a 10.5mm fisheye and a cam caddie. I was excited to film on it, the only problem being that I had no DSLR experience.

I posted here a few times last year, and I got a lot of advice about how to make editing pleasing to the eye (https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/773816/Critique--+K-) And I tried to follow the advice HKN gave me on where to make cuts.

So if you could give me some feedback on this, mainly on the editing. There are a few iPhone shots in there (you will tell the difference) that would be awesome. +K if your helpful.

If you could upvote it as well that would be killer.

Thanks!

Alrighty, first things I liked about the edit. The stabilisation was good, skiing was good, filming was good.

What I didn't like, the quality. It looked pixalated as fuck. That is a huge turn off for me. Also, going straight into the skiing was like for me, oh okay here we go. Felt rushed. Try to get some B-roll shots or work up to the opening shot. A few times in the edit, I could hear wind and that is like nails down a chalk board for me and most people. Just remove it all together. A few more jump shots would be nice, however doesn't really matter. Also when you sped up your footage so you didn't have like 5 second in between jumps it went a weirdly high pitched noise that I didn't like.

Subjective things, the music. You may like the music but I felt it didn't flow with the skiing. However, that is purely subjective and personal and you should't change your edit just because of that.

Also try to get the same shot multiplie times from different angles. This way you can blend the three or four shots you have into one shot and it makes it look real nice.

Over all skiing was great, needs better quality. Editing was fine. 7/10 did upvote.

Thanks, I think the lower quality shots you are talking about is the iPhone footage. When I transferred the footage to my computer it looked awful, and I dont know why. The only reason I used it was because the tricks were good.

The high pitch noise did not seem as loud during editing. Thanks for the heads up.

+K for you.

I dont know if it was intentional or not, but i would get rid of that excess sound. like the background noise. otherwise i thought it was a good edit. upvoted.

pretty sick edit, its just on some of the closer up shots the skiers head or feet would be cut off a little, just try to get the whole skier in frame next time, unless your going for only a specific body part to be in frame
