Critique my vector.

hmmm

Where the whitest part is to the skiers right side of the jump needs to be more defined. Looks cool

yeah i circled three spots that could be better, and used an unsharp mask filter to make it a little darker and brighter in some areas, without the gray coloring.

1. Maybe just add light texturing or a faint line(like the one at the peak of the jump) to show where it ends and where the background base is.

2. This light should be pushing the shadow in the other direction, towards the jump. Make that part lighten up the corner of the jump where i circled it, and keep the rest of the shadow there from the other light.

3. Make this a little more defined so you can tell what is the jump and what is the base the jump is sitting on.

define the far side of the jump a little better, and what he has, but very cool stuff man, something different for vector art

Thanks for all of the comments guys.

And about it being different, yeah I have been thinking about doing a project like this for about a year now and I finally got the illustrator skills to do it. For anyone wanting to know this took me a good 16 hours to trace and change the way I wanted it.

Its looking good. But honestly maybe decrease the angle of the black out.Arch it up a bit higher So you see a bit more sky. It gives the impression, Woah this guy is jump straight up and out. Rather then just a dulled out background.
I always think the sky and mountains/sunsets behind a skier add so much to the picture.

I would definitely try to make the right side of the jump stand out more. Maybe add a stroke? Did you trace it from a frame by frame? There are also programs that can turn pictures into vectors, or you can you use live trace and edit it from there. It looks pretty good and realistic already... nice work
