Critique My Hunting Edit.

Just getting into Video production and Editing. Going to be filming alot of hunting, so critique me please. Thanks.
 
edit was about 4 times too long, (don't show more than a few seconds of something at a time unless it's very interesting: ie. cut down intro clips of road, cows, etc.) make sure to expose all of your shots properly, practice more with your camera and make sure to know which way to turn the focus ring to focus further/closer, if the people in your edit are saying something then make sure we can hear/understand what they're saying, for a "hunting" edit there was a surprising lack of closer shots on the guns/hunters shooting.
 
Ya, i know the intro was long. I cut it, and then didnt want to go back. And i know my exposures were not very good, but the light was really bad, and was changing constantly that day, it was really annoying. Some of those shots i over/under exposed on purpose. And i do need some practice with my knowledge of which i way im turning my focus ring. I forget sometimes.

I also want to get a ND filter to help with the Difference in the Sky and Ground.

And i need to get a External Mic some time later, for know it will work, but i dont think it was to bad this time around.

And this was my first time out Ever filming hunting and First time ever Filming for a whole day like that. Most i have filmed is clips here and there.

And to the other guy. Yes a Hunting edit. Some people like to do things other than Skiing. And if you have seen Hunting videos before its usually extremely bad filming and editing, so i am going to start to try and make Hunting Videos that will be better than that of what is out there.

Any other Critiques i am Open to suggestions and Tips.
 
I'm not trying to hate, but pointing shotguns up in the air and shooting down pigeons gets a little boring after a while.

unless you weren't using shotguns, then I applaud you.
 
Haha Ya But if your a hunter than its not. I can Understand that if you dont hunt it could be boring.

I also realize this is slightly long. I Had alot of footage from that day and i knew my friends(the ones in the video) would want to see it all. I am going to make a reedit when i have more time, i cranked this one out pretty fast so they could see it, and i am going to make a shorter more to the point edit when i have more time(when i dont have Papers and and so much to do at school).
 
Here is a better one. My first one was more of a documentation of the day i guess. Wasnt that good. THis one i feel is better.

If you you could critique this i would appreciate it. Im going to be filming some more this next weekend.

 
This is media and arts? This is my filming since i do other things other than skiing? and i know alot of Nsers on here are members that would be willing to help me out with my hobbie and help me get better at filming and editing. Thanks and i will stay.
 
Just watched the first one..

-Shoot different angles, Get creative

-Choose music to the scene a bit more

- try out some different color correcting techniques

-Mess with over lapping some good interview over other shots.

This weekend i am going to try and get more creative. We will have a lot more birds to shoot so i am hoping to get some better shots.

I did both of these in Imovie. i have FCP, but i have never used it before, i need to learn how to use it.
