Critique my fall semester cliff jumping video

Here is my video i just put together for the fall semester at my school. It is really just to show what we do on the nice days, and just have fun.

Found out recently that i can win $500 by showing this to the school board and they might promote it, so with that in mind i over saturated a bit and added a bit more conformed 60p (they like that sort of thing) and the music is supposed to be a summer style feeling. Had a few buddies help me with their shots and i feel it flows pretty well. Still not digging the music a whole lot, but seems to have good vibes.

Overall i liked what i shot, and kept things pretty basic. (all handheld besides a few, i think)

Other than what i said have at it. thanks!

I enjoyed that a lot. Everything was right on. May I ask what camera you used. I was thinking it was like a gopro or something.
 
if it's possibly for school, i'd drop the rap, or at least the f-bomb at the end
 
the video is shot on canon 7d, with the pool shots on a gopro

but yes there a few changes i will be making if i submit it. and cutting the f bombs is one of them!

didn't much like the song either... and it definitely wont fit with a school board. you could certainly remove the f-bombs, but you cant really take out the part where it's like, "if we ever smoke together, then consider us fam"... i don't mind it, the school board might.

otherwise, i the little "millisecond zoom" at about 1:38 was kind of disorienting and i wasn't exactly sure what you were going at there. i didn't like that effect at all, to be honest.

i liked the video though, colors were nice, there was a good flow to it, etc. etc...
 
haha yea song choice might have been iffy, but we'll see.

and the zoom was a chance i took, saw something similar in another video that i tried to imitate, not sure how well that went over

this is just a guess but if they want to use it for a promotional video they might want sometime to kind of tie in the college within the video. Like a shot of you leaving your dorms that pans past the school's sign or something like that. but i donno.
 
i don't think it's a promotional video for the actual school, i think it's more like a promotional video for the film program that mike is in at school. so they are showcasing the work of a student to promote the program.
 
this, more or less. the contest is open to any student at my school, but the category this year is to show the beauty of the upper peninsula and tying that in to what students do with it

It would not be used as a promotional video for future students, but more for the students that are already there
