Hey guys,Been working on a few edits lately and would love some CC. It was all filmed on my t2i with a 50 prime and crappy zoom. Timelapses were done using my gopro.

Those were both SIIIICK!

Now as for the cinematography, I won't give any CC because I'm a noob, but I loved the edits. Nice flow, nice shots, nice editing. Really digged it!

dope shit, just increase the radius of the vignette or incrase the opacity. It's a tad too strong.

Thanks, yeah for sure, was playing around with it for a while probably went a bit overkill with the vignette. thanks for the cc

Bag the super slow shots, not that sick IMO and if you were going for a warm tint, thats what youve got. Also, the edge blurring and vignette look terrible, you should just bag that shit too.

Your edits are a bit over-edited, you dont need to make a jump cut at every kick of the song haha, but i guess thats personal preference

I beg to differ. I appreciate your points and they definitely are valid. I like the super slow shots especially in the second edit because the song is slow. I also like the blurring and vignette but i realize i should probably tone them down a bit.

not enough vignetting. I only want to see the middle 10% of the frame so you should crank it up a bit more

i only watched the first one. vignetting and warmness has been discussed already. a few shots seemed like they were a little out of focus, idk if it was just me or the video. i liked the title at the beginning a lot. and the twixtor was a little unnecessary i think, it didnt really add anything to the edit

Newish to filming, but i'll give you my thoughts. As everyone said above it was super edited, but I really liked it and thought you pulled it off well, personal opinon. And you had a good mix of shots and variety. The first one was my favorite though. Cause I know Andrew, probably one of my favorite riders, and I think it caught his just want to go out and ski personality better than the second. But still thought both were amazing for the caliber of resources.

PS both these videos are running through the local riders, and everyone loves them!

hah thanks man, glad you're showing it to some people. Yeah i know i tend to overedit my footage a tad its just a preference. Thanks for the plug!

Really liked both of the edits. Definitely full of warm colors that worked IMO. However, I do agree maybe lighten up the vignette a little bit. I liked the twixtor work as well (no warping!) Maybe it could've been a little shorter for the first time you used it in the first edit, but that was just my opinion. Also, How do you place text behind a person (you did it in the beginning of the second edit), is it just a lot of masking and keyframing?

not sure if youre using a tripod...but get a decent tripod. get a ND filter and polarizer for filming outdoors, especially on snow. cut the super slow mo. get better lenses

1st video:
-too many cuts, i would have looked to have just seen the shot play through-color grading was too strong. colors were too warm, snow was completely blown out, and the vignette was too strong. did you use the blockbuster look in magic bullet? that's kind of what it looks like-sick title, and the way it transitioned into the shot was cool-the twixtor stuff was held for waaay too long throughout the edit. it should really only go from one beat to the next. and its kind of a good idea to just avoid twixtor as much as possible since so many people use it now-i would work on getting really solid shots rather than focus as much on the editing. i think that if it weren't for all the cuts, extreme grading, and twixtor, the shots might not have stood out so much. you want to be able to get shots that you hardly need to do anything to to make them dope.
2nd video:
-once again, shots are way too warm, vignette is way too strong, white are way too blown out. -the one question interview in the beginning could/should have been tossed, it was just kinda awkward-dope title, you're super good at those-for slow motion, you should find a way to conform your clips to 24p instead of just using the slow motion tool in your editing program. this will help you avoid the ghosting on some of your shots-too many cuts again. just let the shot play, it makes it easier to watch-again, work on the composition of your shots rather than relying on grading so much

just some things to consider for your next edits. good work though! i enjoyed watching them

i will honestly be pretty surprised if he didn't use the magic bullet blockbuster look, but the colors look exactly like what happens when you drag the blockbuster look onto a clip and don't tweak it at all to fit the clip, and that kinda bothers me

I had the same exact thought and its only on like half of the clips too, even worse. The overexposed center with black ass edges looks horrible.

Personally I feel those were some of the sickest edits I have ever seen on this site. Keep the twixor, you didn't over use it at all, fit nicely. Probably ditch the vignetting, leave everything else imo

those were pretty good, i would agree with everything will and evan have said so far.

also maybe use a tripod? in the second edit alot of the shots seemed handheld. could just be a shakey zoom tho.

"Personally I feel those were some of the sickest edits I have ever seen on this site."

key word "I", and yea sorry for having an opinion.
